When One Falls And No One Catches At All

Wave to Love

It was a typical sunny breezy afternoon. Papunta ako ngayon sa pinaka espesyal na babae sa buhay ko. She is my princess since we were in pre school. She usually makes fun of me and made a prank on me. But I never got mad at her. She was so cute back at that time. She was a spoiled little princess of her parents that is why she was so playful when we were kids. And Im always at her side to defend her to those she bullied. Yes, she was a bully.

When we grow up, she became so beautiful. She is so carefree and joyful. She laughs her heart out when she is happy and doesn't care the judgement of others. She cry out loud when she is sad. Especially, when her favorite dog died or when she watched those lousy dramatic movies. She let out what she really is. She never wear any mask to cover her tears. She will say or do what she think is right. And I'm with her all the time.

We love the same kind of music. We crave for the same food. We watch together basketball league. And we hike every mountain on our bucket list. We are so the same. We're compatible in so many things. We are soulmates.

When I arrived on our rendezvous, her warm smile greeted me. She hug me tightly and I return the favor.

"I miss you. Thank you for coming." she said.

"Syimpre ikaw pa. Makakahindi ba ako sayo? Miss na rin kita ehh." sagot ko sa kanya sabay hawak sa kanang kamay niya. She hold my hand tightly and I smiled at her. She have this very expressive eyes and I can see happiness in it. And Im so happy too.

"You're always there for me. And Im so lucky to have a guy like you in my life. You never left me, even those times that I was so hard on you. You always make me feel special and your top priority. And Im so thankful with that." she told me while looking at me straight. Bakit imbes na matuwa ako sa sinabi niya ay parang kinabahan ako. I have this feeling that this is not going to end well.

I didn't answer. I just want to listen to her angelic voice.

"You know that I love you right?" my eyes widened. I was about to say something, but she continue. "You're like a brother to me. You're my bestfriend." Yes. Im her bestfriend. Bestfriend only.

"And you're the only person I want to share this thing first."she said. She enhaled deeply and continue what she is saying. "Vin, Im pregnant and Im getting married." she said in a happy tone while showing me her engagement ring. I am stunned. Shocked and broken.

I forced a smile and congratulate her. She smile widely and hug me.

" Thank you so much. Bestman ka ha." sabi niya at napatango na lang ako. Im hurting inside and its damn painful. We heard a beep of a car and I know it was her prince charming. She bid goodbye and slowly walk away from me. She look at me one more time and wave goodbye while smiling. I wave back too. I wave goodbye to the only girl I love. To my bestfriend. A tear escape from my eyes. My heart is like going to explode because of the pain. I never had a chance to tell her how much I love her. I wanted to tell her but I dont want to ruin her happiness. I dont want to be the reason of her sorrows. I wanted to be her knight in shining armor. But I can never be his prince. I cry and let out all the pain. I cry a lot to let go of all the hurt. I cry to forget the love. The love I have for my bestfriend.
