“I have the ability to control the wind.” Xeverus proudly stated as he dropped his bags to the side and cracked his fingers. He retreated his hands to the sides, like a bird ready to flap his wings. He clapped his hands together, causing a great wave of air hitting towards the maiden and cryomancer.
Jack quickly shielded the maiden from the dangers of the cuts of leaves as he created an ice shield to protect her, luckily enough the wind was that much powerful to break it. Her glared harshly at the male in front of him, slightly annoyed of what he has done. He could have just answered the question, he didn’t have to make a fool of himself and almost hit a woman. Jack quickly went to check on her, making sure she was okay. “Hey Cath, you alright?”
The maiden nodded slowly, her glasses had broken due to the wind and sudden cold that appeared. There was a couple of scratched on her face as she sighed. “I better go to the infirmary to get this checked on and also for Lili.”
“I—I’ll go with you…”
“No, you have to stay here with them. Lead them to their dormitories.” Cathiryn held his hand down, not wanting him to follow her. “I’ll be fine, Jackie. Really. Now remove this ice sculpture in front of me.”
He sighed and followed the woman’s instruction as he had let her go. Xeverus was about to apologize when he heard a voice in his head. ‘Don’t worry, I’m okay. I’ll see you guys later.’ “D—did she just—“
As the maiden had left, Jack nodded towards him. “Cathiryn is a memnomancer. Her ability to talk to others mentally is a skill she had developed for practicing her skill daily with the help of Chancellor Gravel.”
“Chancellor Gravel? Is she related to him in anyway?” Gabriel curiously asked.
“No. I mean—not that we know of.” Jack bit his lip as he scratched the back of his neck. “So anyway, how about you? What’s your power?”
Gabriel felt uncomfortable as he replied slowly, “I can manipulate light and darkness.”
“Wait—you can do both?”
“Uh..yeah?”
Jack thought for a moment, trying to let the information sunk into his mind. He had to tell this to the others, did the professors even know about his skill? He was silent for a while, until Xeverus questioned him.
“Is something wrong with that?” He sounded a bit angry, thinking that Jack might be in thought that his best friend has something wrong.
“No no. It’s just…new. Different, you know?” He responded as he turned around and moved towards the dormitories. “Anyway, come along. I want you guys to rest for a while, since travelling is such a troublesome thing.”
When Cathiryn had arrived at the infirmary, her smile grew widely. Natalia was blushing mad beside a familiar Korean transferee. Sungha. His dirty blonde hair was messy as his pale cheeks turned bright red, chuckling at the young maiden. He was wearing his blue t-shirt and a pair of violet basketball shorts; it suits him to say the least. He was in good terms with Jack since Jack was somewhat part Korean as well, but never when Natalia is around.
She observed the scene and made no announcement that she had arrived.
“Natalia. I told you not to go pulling tricks at Professor Davis. He’s having a hard time coping, and he has a new car. Seriously…” He sighed as he shook his head, “If I didn’t love you, I would have told the chancellor now. It’s a good thing he didn’t know what you did…”
“W-what? What are you talking about?” Natalia blushed red as she playfully punched Sungha’s shoulder, a pout on her lips. Her memory was a slight blurred, maybe because that she pranked Peter and her slipping on the ice all of the sudden. Jack apologized for it repeatedly and Sungha’s been there since he heard the commotion in the infirmary. “D-don’t kid around, okay?”
