I'm starting to lose hope now, what's the point? I'm probably not even going to escape anyway, so why try? There's literally no way I can find a key in two minutes.

"If only you could cut through this nightmare, and rip it right open" I say this over and over again to myself in my head. What does this even mean? I think I'm just going to lie down now, this bed seems comfy enough, maybe this whole situation will just go away without me. Hopefully.

Ow, my back hurts something just touched it underneath me. Something pointy. I took the covers off and I can't see anything!

"One minute and thirty seconds left, James"

My hearts racing now, what do I do? Come on now. Think, think. I start feeling the mattress and I feel something right where I was sitting! What is it? How do you get into a mattress? Could I use that knife that I got earlier, maybe. Now I understand what the note said, I need to cut open the mattress and find the key inside.

"Well done", That voice makes me sick.

"One minute James"

Quick! I'm looking now and I can't see it anywhere. Where could it be? Who is doing this to me? Have I made enemies with anyone, I don't think so. Wait, there was that creepy man why my brother stole from, I said I did it! No it can't be him. Let me think, what did he say.

------------------three days earlier----------------

"Alex, are you serious!" I'm literally so happy right now. I knew he would get me a great present for my birthday. Best brother ever!

"I couldn't let you down, especially after you went on about it for three months straight,"

" and now you've finally got it, the brand new football game for your computer!"

I still can't believe he got it for me, it must have been pretty expensive. How did he afford it? I thought he only got payed minimum wage. Weird. Best 14th birthday ever.

I started to open the packaging when Alex came and said he wanted to show mum and dad, I said ok but he's still not back yet. I think he left his phone here, maybe I should take it back to him. I started to walk up the driveway when his phone started ringing, I declined it, he might be angry. Oh well, he can't be angry at me on my birthday, that would be very rude.

I think they left a voicemail, should I listen? Might as well, here goes

I think they left a voicemail, should I listen? Might as well, here goes.

"Alex, did you get the game for your brother? So are you going to keep the secret for now or for ever? I still can't believe you actually did it, it's not like you, but you just wanted to see him happy so your intentions were good. Just promise to never steal anything again, ok? Well I should go, see you soon. Sam."
