You woke up just in time to hear a deep sigh on the other side of the bed. Or because of that sigh, you weren't completely sure of that. You opened your eyes, still not used to the luxury of the room you had spent the last few days on. Nor to the size of the bed. Or the man lying in it.
"Are you ok, Oberyn?"

He stretched, almost like one of those exotic tigers you had seen once in a travelling fair. Which seemed kind of a fitting gesture for a man like him.
"I am getting sick of this city. The treason, the backstabbing politics... I prefer the heat and the venom from Dorne over all of this..." He hoisted himself up, sitting back into the pillows that were lying all over the bed and beckoned you to come closer. "If you weren't here now..."

You smiled and did what he wanted, draping yourself comfortably against him.
"Could you be happy, here, with me?", you wondered. You wanted a yes, but after what he had just said, you didn't know if you were going to get it. You shivered when he ran his finger down your back.

"I honestly don't know. I do know that without you, I would have been tempted to go back home already, with the whole delay tactics the Lannisters are practicing..." He smirked. "I'm still tempted to just pack you, Ellaria and all my entourage and go back. The only reason I don't do that, is that I don't want them to win."

"Pack me?", you looked up, wanting to see his face. "You'd want to keep me with you?" It wasn't something he had talked about before. You had always thought you were just someone to make the time he spent in King's Landing more pleasurable, but going back to Dorne with him, that was something you had never even considered. You weren't sure if you wanted it...
"I'm just a commoner... what would I do in Dorne?"

He smiled and kissed you before answering.
"Don't worry that much, love. If you're with me, everyone will treat you as a princess. Ask Ellaria. Ask my daughters. That whole stupid ranking thing is something that counts here, not where I come from." Then the grin disappeared from his face, turning it serious for a moment. "As for your first question. I tried my best not to feel anything for you. Guess what? I failed." He shrugged. "I didn't come here to find love. I have enough of that back home. I came here to find revenge. Now I found the thing I wasn't looking for and still have to fight for what I wanted."

You answered his kiss. And you felt how your heart was swelling when he committed his love for you. A love you might even answer, despite your knowledge when you started this that it had to be just for fun, that it could never become more than just temporary fun.
"I never considered leaving here. But for you, I might be willing to do it." Even when you knew you would never have him for yourself alone. Even when you knew you'd always have to share him."

He smiled, rolling over and pinning you on the mattress.
"Consider it...", he smiled. "After all, you wouldn't want me to leave without you, so I can never kiss you that hard again that you see stars?"
