I woke up from Atlas nudging me with her snout. I tried to sit up, but it was difficult seeing I had arms around my waist. I followed up the arms to shoulders, to collarbone, to neck, then to a brown haired boy, Jeff. I looked at how he was sleeping, he looked so peaceful, as if he had nothing to worry about and was just relaxing. I giggled at how cute he looked. I then look over to see Atlas looking at me with a 'you like him' face. I swear she knew how to make more emotions than any other animal I've seen. I gave her a 'no I don't' look, and she just smiled and looked at Jeff. I couldn't lie, he was cute in that state. I was finally able to sit up, and when I did, Jeff groaned as if he didn't want me to move. I just rolled my eyes, smirking, and then lied back down.

I turned my head to look at Jeff, he just sighed, satisfied. I chuckled and pat the spot between me and Jeff, signaling for Atlas to lie there. She crawled over to that spot and got into and comfortable position. I started to move back to make room for Atlas when I felt my phone start vibrating in my pocket. I took it out to see who was calling me. I saw my mother's name glowing on my screen. I answered the call. "Hello, Amber. How's everything?" my mother asked with a cheery tone. "Hey mom. Everything's going well. Jeff's asleep and Atlas is laying down between us." I answered with a smile looking at Jeff and Atlas. Mother was the only one who knew about Atlas. She broke me out of thoughts with "Do you like him, Amber? Oh, and how's Liu?" I had a shocked expression on my face "As a good friend, yes. Something more, no." I then frowned at how I was going to answer the second question my mother asked. "And Liu, he's....he was blamed for attacking kids that attacked him and Jeff first. So now he's in.....Juvie." I said almost breaking into tears, and my mother knew that by the tone in my voice. "Oh, I'm sorry for hearing that. Is Jeff okay?" she asked with a sad tone. "Yeah. I was going to go back home, but Jeff said he wanted me to stay, so I did. Now he's sleeping like a baby." I answered her with a sad smile on my face.  "Okay well I need to help your dad with something. Oh, and Paisley and Jackson went on a vacation for a couple weeks. Anyway, bye dear." she told me with a more cheery tone. "Alright mom. Good-bye." I responded. She hung up after I said it.

"So, your siblings are on vacation?" I heard Jeff say sleepily. I jumped a little from him scaring me unintentionally, which made me drop me phone on the bed. "Jeff! Oh, geez you scared me. And to answer your question, yes. They are. I'm happy." I answered him shaky voice. He smirked at me. I looked at him with a curious look. "Wait. How much of that conversation did you hear?" I asked grabbing my phone and putting it beside me. "Oh, since you said I was sleeping like a baby." he answered teasingly. I blushed and looked away. "Well you were the one who had their arms around my waist and didn't want me to sit up." I said with a pouty tone. "Well, why don't you looked at your waist now." he said with a still teasing. I looked down and my blush got deeper. I sat up and looked at the door. "Can you stop hugging me now?" I asked not wanting to feel heat in my cheeks. "No." he said smirking like Cheshire Cat. "Not until you say you'll stay another night here." he said tightening his grip around my waist making me blush a darker shade of scarlet, if possible. "Fine just get your arms off my waist." I answered now knowing how persuasive he can be. He let go of my wait, but rested his chin on my shoulder. "You can be persuaded easily." he said with a tone not as teasing as before. "Whatever." I mumbled then I felt him chuckle. I then got an idea and I smirked getting Jeff's attention. "What are you smirking at?" he asked, his Cheshire Cat smirk turning to a slight smile.

"Getting back at you." I smiled how he did when I was flustered. Before he could ask anything, I laid down in his lap, my back against his chest. He went from a pale boy, to a red faced, brown haired boy. I felt him freeze in shock. I giggled. "Weren't expecting that, Jeff?" I looked up at him and crossed my legs. He shook his head furiously. Atlas saw us and lied down next to Jeff. He started to pet her and his blushed died down.

His mother knocked on the door and its scared me to where I jumped up and I accidentally jumped out of the bed and I landed on the floor with a loud thump. Atlas disappeared and Jeff's mother opened the door, just to see me on the floor with a shocked expression on my face. "Are you okay, Amber?" she asked with a worried tone. "Yeah I'm alright. You just scared me." I answered . "Okay well, Jeff, Billy's party is tomorrow." his mother said to Jeff. "Okay, but do I have to go?" he asked with a hint of annoyance in his voice. "Yes, Jeff. You do." she answered him with a stern tone. "Well, at least can Amber go?" Jeff asked admitting defeat. "I guess." she said with a curious tone. "Thanks, Mom." "You're welcome. Well I'll go tell Billy's mom that Amber's coming." and with that she left.

"Who's Billy?" I asked Jeff while standing up and dusting myself off. "He's my neighbor. And a little kid." he answered. "You don't want to be the only big kid at his party?" I sat back on the bed. "Yeah. And I want to make sure that Paisley and Jackson don't hurt you if they come back early." he said protectively. I snickered at his protectiveness. "What are you laughing at?" "Oh, nothing. Just how overprotective you are. I can handle them myself." I walked over to my bag in the corner of the room, and pulled out a colt government model 22 pistol, and smiled. "Amber, where did you get that?" Jeff asked concerned. "I found it while I was playing with Atlas a couple days ago. And with my luck, my parents took me somewhere where I could do some target practice with a gun. Plus I showed my mom this gun and she gave me a couple packs of bullets of it." I put the gun back and walked back over to Jeff. He had this worried look on his face. I hugged him. "Don't worry. I'm not going to hurt anyone with it. I just use it to scare my siblings and to do some target practice." I pulled away. I looked at Jeff's face and his face expression went from a worried one to an understanding one. Then he nodded. I sat back onto the back and lied down. Then I mumble to myself "But if those kids that's got Liu into Juvie come back, I will  injure them." Jeff didn't seem to hear because he just looked off into space. I put my hands behind my head and closed my eyes. Shortly after, unintentionally, I fell asleep.
