Vincent's POV

I angrily threw everything off of my desk and growled loudly "And you guys couldn't stop him" I calmly say through gritted teeth.

My best pack warriors cower back a bit "No he got away after stabbing Beta Dakota" he lowered his head.

I was seething with rage "It doesn't matter you guys are excused" they left and I sank into my chair.

"Hey Vinny" I hear my younger sisters call.

"What do you want Candace" I sigh.

"I'm Kansas" she protests.

"And I'm Candace" the other one chimed in.

I slammed my hands on the table "I don't give a fuck whose who if I say you're Candace than you're Candace got it" I exclaim.

They jump back in surprise Candace looks down and sniffles "Why are you so cold to us you weren't always like this" she said as tears well in her eyes.

Kansas looks at her sister the she glares up at me "Sandra was right you are just a cold hearted bastard" she growls.

My eyes widen in shock "Hey you shouldn't be saying that you're only 9" I scold.

She scoffs "You can't tell us what to do you're not out dad" she said.

"No but I'm your alpha" I tell her.

"So we were all born with the alpha gene if we wanted we can always challenge you for the title" she narrowed her eyes at me.

"How are you so smart at age 9" I ask her.

She shrugs and grabs Candace's hand and drags her out of the room. I slump in my chair 'Am I really as cold as they say' I think to my self dejectedly I never thought of myself like that. I stand up and make my way to the infirmary to see my beta. "How are you doing Dakota" I ask him -even though he's in coma- suddenly the door opens and I turn to see Dakota's mate -Kacey- he seems surprised to see me here.

"Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to interrupt you I could come back-"

I waved him off "You're his mate you have every right to be here" I told him.

His eyes watered "I saw it happen it happened in front of me. I was so helpless I couldn't reach him in time" he looked down.

I frowned and my hands clenched <I'll kill that bastard that did this to Dakota> Kade -my wolf- snarled.

I nodded in agreement I snapped back to reality when Kacey suddenly fell to his knees "What if he dies it'll be all my f-fault" he sobbed.

I stood up "Get of the goddamned floor Kacey and compose yourself your mate needs you" I ordered.

He sniffled and shakily got to his feet "Y-You're right" he sat next to Dakota but he wouldn't meet my eyes.
