The Radiation

Chapter 1

In the beginning, It was just my family in our backyard having a BBQ, with the whole family. We were having a reunion because we hadn't seen each other in what felt like for ever. I also had a few of my friends over too. All the kids had to go play outside, but what I don't get is why the older kids have to stay outside in the hot sun when the 16, 17 and 18 year olds are allowed inside. I mean seriously. So Ashley, Tara and I watched the little ones play,  whilst we lyed on the trampoline watching the clouds roll by. We were also gossiping about the boys we liked. I glanced at the younger ones to see if everyone was doing the right thing, cause that was my job at every family BBQ. Then I looked back at the sky which had turned completely black darker than storm clouds. So I yell to everyone in the backyard.
"Get to the shelter it looks like a tornado."
"Don't worry guys Ambers just overreacting." Tara yelled.
Then all of a sudden on the horizon we could just see a cloud of dust. At least that's what it looked like from here.  Then there was a loud  !!CRACK!!
"Never mind get to the shelter I don't know what that is but it looks dangerous." Tara yelled.
"Are you serious."
"Why do we have to listen to you your not even related, whoops. Probably shouldn't have said that, never mind she'll be fine. Come on guys let's go play without them, loser teenagers. None of them are even related to us so we don't have to listen to them at all." Tatiana yelled at the top her lungs to the rest of the cousins.
I was so annoyed to hear that I didn't think she meant it though I think. I glanced to the horizon and it was getting closer. So I screamed at the very top of my lungs; " Get to the shelter if you wanna survive, this thing. "
"What about the adults." coughed  Ashley."
"There not even my Family you heard Tatiana she said it right to my face." I was yelling now because of the screaming of the stupid boys that jumped into the darkness and had died sadly.
"OK, then let's get to the shelter before it kills us to." Tara said annoyed now.
We ran as fast as we possibly could to the shelter. We finally made it,  to find Tatiana pacing in the shelter.
"Finally I was so worried about you I knew you were going to come here with your friends because of  that stupid gas thing that burns you. You know your friends are so smart." smiling at Ashley and Tara now.
"Thanks." said Tara popping her chest out like she had something to be proud of.
"It wasn't even us it was all Amber we did nothing we just listened to her because she's our host." Ashley said looking at Amber now. "I'm proud of you, you usually get angry at these kind of things you're gonna be a great teacher someday. "
I said thanks then turned to Tatiana and ask her if what she said before was true.
"Of course it is why would I lie to you, you are my favorite person." She boldly says to me.
I got so annoyed at her so I just went and sat on the couch listening to the banging and cracking of the gas outside. As I was sitting there I slowly fell asleep.
