Waking up in your husband's arms every single morning was the best part of living together, you decided. Sure, it was nice to be able to eat together, brush your teeth together, watch tv together, but where it was really at was waking up together.
The beautiful September sun was shining through the curtains, just enough to wake you up. Saeyoung was still asleep, passed out from the passed evening you spent together. It had been a few weeks since you two first settled into the new home, and you hadn't spent one minute apart since then.
You laid there for a good 10 minutes, cuddled up to Saeyoung's bare chest. It was warm, and you could feel his heart beating steadily beneath it. Eventually, he stirred, pulling you closer to him.
"Oh, babe," he yawned, "How did it already get to be 10 am? Oh well..."
You giggled softly, and nestled up closer, closing your eyes again, "Honey, I could honestly stay here forever."
"I know," he replied, "I wish neither of us had work in... Holy shit." Saeyoung bolted out of bed, scrambling for clothes.
"What's wrong?" you started getting anxious.
"Its 10:30!! I have a meeting with Jumin at 11; he wanted to finally discuss the cat robot now that his cat food line is up and running!"
"Oh my," you helped him search for proper attire, knowing that if Saeyoung was late with Jumin, he would get his ass beaten.
Soon, your husband looked presentable enough to see the corporate director, and you sent him off.
When you walked back into the bedroom, you noticed how unorganized you had made it while trying to find Saeyoung's favorite tie. You sighed and thought to yourself, Well.. I'd better get started. These clothes won't put themselves away.
Halfway through the small, yet tedious task, you heard a knock on the door downstairs. You put the pair of jeans you had folded and ran down.
"Hellooo~!!" an all too familiar voice said, "Open the door, MC!"
A burst of light shone through as you opened the door. "Zen!" you shouted, hugging your friend. "I haven't seen you since the wedding!"
"Which was beautiful, by the way. Almost as beautiful as me~" he smirked, walking into the living room. Some things never change.
"Thank you?" you asked, taking it as a compliment.
"Your house here, as well! Wow!" he looked around, picking up a photo of the RFA, framed on the mantle of the fireplace, "I can definitely imagine some red-headed baby pictures up here as well."
You blushed immensely, as children was never something you had actually talked about yet with Saeyoung. You could imagine that it was a sensitive topic with him, as his own childhood hadn't been the greatest.
"Anywho~~" you changed the topic as you took Zen to the kitchen, "I wasn't expecting company today. Saeyoung is in a meeting with the trustfundkid and I was just cleaning upstairs. Do you want anything to eat? We've got plenty of Honey Buddha Chips and PhD Pepper!"
"No," the actor replied, "I need to keep my body looking as beautiful as always for this upcoming show, and chips and soda is not going to help."
"Your loss!" you laughed, "Why don't I show you around the rest of the house?"
Zen smiled and agreed. You took him through the dining room, which connected to the sunroom in the back. There was a patio door and a huge backyard outside. You imagined putting a swingset there, and some happy little child playing on it. Wait, you thought, Where did that thought come from? I'm only 25, and Saeyoung might not even want to have children..
Frowning, you guided Zen back inside the house. You walked back into the living room sat down on the couch. All these thoughts started coming down on you, almost enough to make you cry.
What if I don't ever get to have kids?
What if I do, and Saeyoung turns into his mother or father? He won't though.. Will he?
What if the children hate us? What if we're bad parents?
"I think you should go," you turned to Zen, holding back tears.
"Wait, what? I haven't even seen the upstairs yet? Is everything okay?" he furrowed his brow, wondering whether or not this was his place to comfort you.
"I'm--I'm fine." you exhaled, leading Zen to the door. All you wanted was to be alone to think.
You were on thr brink of tears when he said, "If you ever need anything at all, don't ever hesitate to call me. I'll be here for you."
You nodded, happy to know you had a good friend, and shut the door behind him. You watched Zen through the window as he pulled out of the driveway, off to who knows where.
You walked upstairs, headed towards your bedroom. As you walked through the hallway, though, something caught your eye.
The empty guest room. Saeyoung had already put one extra bedroom to good use, as his computer room. There was still one empty room, though. What was your plan for the room? Was it just a storage room? A guest room? Your.. Future child's room?
At that last thought, you walked in, tears streaming from your eyes, knowing that you could be imagining something that would never happen. A distant reality, never to be seen. You imagined a crib against the wall, facing a big window overlooking the backyard. Your child would have a nice view. You imagined little baby clothes, hanging neatly in the closet. Shoes big enough for a doll sitting on the floor. A rocking chair in the corner, just you and baby sitting peacefully. You imagined a bookshelf, filled with picture books, and you reading to your little bundle.
You fled the room, knowing all too well that it was just a dream. It won't happen, you kept telling yourself as you wept. You crawled into your king sized bed and huddled under the covers, shaking. You wept for what seemed like hours until you heard a slight knock on the door.
