Eskild poured the cheap wine into two glasses, handing one to Mariane as she sat on the counter- her legs swinging against the lower cabinets as she sipped the white wine.
"So, why are my guru advisories needed today Mar?" He asked, sliding himself up on to the counter across from her
"Uh- so, um there's this guy-"
"-Fuckboy Chris, yes of course." Eskild finished for her
Mar laughed in shock, making a questionable face at her friend. "How do you know I'm talking about Schistad?"
"Honey, he punched a kid in defense of your brother." Eskild swirled his wine glass in his hand, "who else could you be talking about?"
"Fine, okay. It's Chris." She gave in, raising her hand in surrender, "but the thing is, in the beginning he was just being a flirty fuck and now he's starting to seem more sincere."
"And you're scared, I get it." He sipped more of his wine
"I-I'm not scared." Mar defended
"Then why are you stuttering? Why are your hands shaking? Why are we having this conversation?" He hopped down, walking to refill his glass and as he stood next to her, he looked over at her. "You know what kind of rep he has. The amount of girls he's gotten with, what happened with Iben and Eva. You've heard it all, I know you have. You don't want to just be another conquest. If it's anything with you two, it's going to mean something. You don't want one of those hoodies in your closet."
"What do you think?" She asked carefully
"You know what surprised me most? He hasn't hooked up with anyone since you came. He hasn't slept with, kissed or done anything with anyone in three weeks. That's a record for him, really." He offered a half smile to Mar, "He doesn't go around punching guys for girls he just sees as conquest, or comment things defending their twins on instagram."
"So, I should just disregard all the red flags and jump into his arms?" Marine gave Eskild a concerned look
"No. Not at all. You still have to be careful, I never said you let your guard down." Eskild nodded, "A conversation with someone doesn't necessarily you have to marry them or some shit. It's just a few sentences exchanged, and I think you should consider that."
