There are two reasons Wildrick closes his eyes before 'jumping'.
One, it helps with focus.
Two, when the entire world changes in less than a second, you tend to loose your lunch.
After loosing whatever he'd eaten up to that point Wildrick looked around.
One thing was clear he was not in safe haven.
He was standing in a field of tall grass, the sky was full of stars, even though the sun was resting on the horizon.
Well at least he was safe for now, even if he had never been here before, time to check his loot.
From the pack on his back he took a scroll, a leather bound book, a dagger and most importantly a sphere of pure diamond containing within it a small ball of blackness. Now to destroy it.
Wildrick did not know how long he struggled with that sphere, it must have been hours.
However when he looked around the sun had not moved an inch.
Several more hours and Wildrick just gave up. The Sphere reminded him of a plaything he had had as a child, a puzzle cube. He could never solve them. So, frustrated, he decided to explore. First thing he noticed was that the blades of grass where incredibly sharp, upon closer inspection they seemed to be made of bronze.
That was weird, but not a problem, Wildrick simply focused his magic on the air around him, pushing away the blades. And he then began his march, heading in the direction of the sun. In this manner he continued for a substantial amount of time, until he inevitably grew tired, magic is hard. Once more he looked at the sun. It had still not risen or sank even and inch, yet it somehow seemed closer.
Suddenly he felt something nudge at his elbow.
He spun around, only to find a young girl genitally pulling at his elbow.
Wildrick had been to may dimensions over time, but he had to admit that this girl looked strange.
Her skin seemed to be made of pure ebony with what seemed to be random specks of white. She also dressed in garments that seemed to be made of titanium.
"Your not from here are you?" she asked her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Wildrick figured that he had nothing to loose. This was obviously a plane where the dominant species looked vastly different to himself.
"No."
"What are you doing here then?" the young girl asked
"Before I answer that I will need some answers of my own, is that OK?"
"Yes."
"OK, where are we, as in what is the name of this world?" asked Wildrick
"Oh, that's easy, we are in Laertahl, in Agri Aes. Anything else?" The little girl replied in a heartbeat
"Yes, what's your name?"
"My name is Tras, Tras Theas."
"Interesting name. So are you out here alone?" Wildrick asked
"No, Leo should be here soon. He always gets so distracted."
Almost poetically, at that moment Wildrick heard a man calling for 'Lady Theas', shortly later a tall, handsome man walked up to Tras and Wildrick.
"Lady, what have i told you about wandering off?" he then saw Wildrick
Suddenly a blade of pure bronze was pressed to Wildrick's throat, the movement had been so swift and graceful that wildrick never say the blade leave the scabbard before it was pressed to his jugular. Now Wildrick found himself at the business end of a longsword made of bronze. His perceptions heightened by the threat of death, began to latch on to random details, for example how all the armor and cloth on this individual seemed to be made of bronze, how his obsidian physique obviously held the integrity of a warrior, how the random specks of white on his dark skin looked almost like stars.
So this is how it ends
"Leo, wait, don't kill him he could be useful."
"Can you not see that he is not from here, he is dangerous."
"Leo, you are a fool who only ever see the world in blacks and whites, you are almost as bad as Libra."
"I am nothing like Libra, she is too cowardly to act upon even one of her choices!" Leo replied almost shouting, his pride clearly injured.
"You two are more similar than you think, now put Wildrick down." Tras Replied
"Fine!" Leo shouted as he threw Wildrick into the bronze dirt, "But we're taking him to the Palace for a trial."
"Ok." Tras replied softly.
This is bad, he was being wrapped up in something, generally Wildrick tried to avoid trials (as he was wanted on at least 10 worlds) not to mention Tras seemed to know his name. (but that was not so bad, as he once met a mage who could read anyone's minds, he just needed to be mindful of it)
"Now let's get him to Regia in Lucem." Leo said, but with such conviction that Wildrick was sure even Tras would not oppose.
