"Just kidding," I laugh and walk away. "There's no way I'm listening to you. Twenty dollars? Nice joke."
I can feel his eyes on me. I walk to science.
"You're late. I don't want you distracting the class this time, so don't even bother coming in," Mrs. Ryan's sighs. I walk back out to the empty hallway and to my locker."So, White gets kicked out of class," Grayson smirks.
"Yeah. Now what do you want? Is this still about the deal?" I ask.
"I will give you fifty dollars if you come to the party tonight," he says.
"Why should I?" I ask.
"I honestly don't know. Just do it. Marcus said that I should convince you to come," Grayson replies.
"So it's Marcus' party?" I ask. He nods.
"Why does he want me to come?"
"Like I said. He told me to convince you to come," he replies.
"Fine. Give me a hundred. I know you have it," I smirk. Grayson rolls his eyes, but nods."Hey honey! How was school?" Mom asks when I come home. We live in a cheap ass house.
"Shitty," I reply and walk upstairs to my bedroom. I shut the door behind me and get ready. What should I wear? I'll definitely wear my classic black boots and leggings. Now for my top. I pull out my white shirt and black jacket. I sit down and turn on my lights. They illuminate my room. The lights are around my mirror. Like a professional makeup mirror. I put on dark red lipstick and fix up my mascara. After touching up my makeup, I curl my hair. I'm missing something. I take a closer look. A beanie. I grab a black beanie off a hook. There we go.
"You look beautiful Lauren," mom smiles at me.
"Why'd you and dad name me Lauren? It doesn't fit me," I comment, ignoring her complement.
"That was your father. He wanted it so badly for some reason. You're right. It doesn't fit. I think that Scarlett would work better," she replied. I get a text.
"My rides here," I say and run downstairs. Mel's silver car is parked in front.
"Bye," mom calls as I hop into Mel's car."Ready?" I ask.
"Ready," she replies and starts driving. We make it to Marcus' within twenty minutes. You can hear the faint sound of music from the doorstep. We stroll into the house. It smells like weed and booze. It's probably only been half an hour since most people arrived.
"So she actually shows up!" Marcus exclaims. I roll my eyes. It's very unusual that I miss a party. Grayson walks out of the crowd and into sight.
"Where's my money?" I ask Grayson.
"Here," he says and hands me fifty dollars.
"You paid her to come?" Mel asks.
"Yeah. Grayson wants to get laid," Marcus jokes. They laugh. I roll my eyes but still laugh.
"Marcus told me to get her to come," Grayson replies.
"Let's start a game of truth or dare," Marcus suggests. We all agree. "Truth or dare upstairs in my room!" he yells as we walk up the stairs. Mel walks into the kitchen instead. A couple of his friends walk up with us. We sit in a circle on his floor. Cheers and jocks join us."Jessica, you start," Marcus tells her.
"Okay. Cole, truth or dare?" Jessica asks.
"Dare," he slurs.
"I dare you to call Lexa and tell her that you want to get back together with her," Jessica says. Cole pulls his phone out of his pocket. He drops it a couple times, before calling Lexa.
"Hey babe," he says into the phone. We can't hear what she says. "I still like you. Let's date again." It's silent for a few moments. "Lexa? Lexa?" Cole asks. He puts his phone back into his pocket.
"She hung up," he laughs. "Okay. Marcus, truth or dare?" Cole asks.
"Truth," he replies.
"Lame," I laugh.
"Boo," Grayson teasingly says.
"In this group, who do you ship?" Cole asks.
"These two hate each other, but they would be honestly one of the best couples. Grayson and Lauren," Marcus replies. We laugh. "Grayson, truth or dare?"
"Dare," Grayson replies."I dare you to date Lauren for two months." We all laugh.
"There's no way in hell," I laugh.
"C'mon Lauren. I never refuse a dare," Grayson says.
"Well you will this time," I reply.
"Fine. Lauren, truth or dare?" he asks.
"Dare," I say.
"I dare you to date me for two months," Grayson says.
"Shit. Do we actually have to act like a couple?" I ask Marcus.
"Yeah. Kissing, hugging, everything. Even when your not in public. And you can't tell anyone it's a dare," he replies. I groan.
"Fine. When does this start?" I ask."Tomorrow."
