Silently, I ran through the forest, my cloak billowing behind me as I jumped over logs and small streams. Crisp leaves crunched when as I swiftly moved, even a wolf would not be able to move through without making noise. The forest hadn't changed much, apart from a few carvings in the tree's of couples initials. I scrunched my eyebrows together, thinking why on Earth someone would bring a knife to a date, but then I remembered these were monster infested woods so it was probably wise too.
I heard the hunters in the trees, whispering to each other and watching as I advanced to the creek as planned where Annabeth most likely had placed the flag. Memories of my first ever capture the flag game made me smirk, I'd schooled Annabeth how to fight, gotten attacked by a monster and discovered who my true father was. It was a game to remember I thought as I neared the flags position.
"There he is!" a voice cried. I easily manoeuvred out the way of an arrow as it skimmed past my torso. Two Demi-gods I didn't recognise raced towards me, one held a simple bow from the Apollo cabin and the other had a whip made from sharp looking spikes.
Defeating them was simple. One flick of my wrist and the whip was frozen in mid air, the holder dropped it to the ground immediately due to the sudden weight. The other kid with the Bow advanced at a rapid pace, notching an arrow and skidding along the floor as he aimed. Side-stepping, I swirled my sceptre in a circular motion and batted him across the chin knocking him out. The other with the frozen whip just crouched to the ground and rose his hands up above his head.
"Honestly, I don't even want to hurt you. I think you're a pretty cool guy..." He trailed out, alarm evident in his eyes.
"Good fight," I replied, smirking and looking up, spotting Melissa with a net in one hand that would weigh him to the ground. He'd no longer be a potential threat. "But it is not me you need to be worrying about."
After that I turned around and continued on my path, hearing his surprised cries.
It didn't take me too long to reach the flag after that, maybe a couple of minutes at the most. I studied the bright Orange flag that had been attached to a spear and stabbed into the rocks right next to the creek. Annabeth seemed to be the only guard, stood in a lazy stance with her Yankees cap on looking alert and ready to take on anyone, I guess invisibility can be classed as a form of trickery since I could see her. She had too much confidence in her fighting abilities, it was time to knock her down a little. I smirked, watching as she circled the flag looking all over the creek and completely missing me. I picked up a rock, and smashed it into the ground, making it so she looked over here. I then stepped backwards, onto some twigs and made them snap, before flashing to the opposite side. Annabeth slowly walked over to the trees were I was moments ago. I smirked, before walking over to the flag and plucking it off of the pole, shoving it in my pocket.
"Well, that was fun while it lasted." I chuckled, making Annabeth swirl around on her foot to face me. She saw the pole, and her face fell. But then she looked really pissed off and confused.
"How can you see me?" She growled. I smirked, leaning onto my sceptre a little bit as she touched her Yankees cap to make sure that it was still actually there . I sighed, walking forwards a little, keeping her annoyed.
"Think of it as a gift from the Gods," I replied, she widened her eyes a little before grabbing another knife from her boot.
"Come on then, you may have been able to easily beat up Dane, but I am by far the most skilled demigod with a weapon in this camp. I dare you to duel me." She growled out, getting into a defensive stance.
"Are you sure?" I asked, in a very bored tone. "I would hate to humiliate you oh Wise Daughter of Athena."
"Let's get started" She snarled, before charging. She seemed rather slow as she leapt over the creak and attempted to land a blow.
I blocked her with my scepter, pushing her back a couple feet. She leapt again, aiming for my shoulders, a classic move she did to everyone. I rose me scepter and once again blocked. I had a feeling my perception of time had changed because I could predict all of the moves she was going to make before she even knew she was going to do it herself. I felt like spider-man. It went like this for the next couple minutes, she couldn't get through my defences and she was quickly growing tired, sweat was making her blond hair stick to her shiny skin. I was also getting majorly bored, so maybe it was time to ditch. I clicked my fingers and made another me appear, before slowly walking away completely invisible to her, she was so absorbed in the fight. I wasn't really bothered about getting revenge yet. I was gonna do that tomorrow night.
I slowly waltzed through the woods, whistling to myself and swinging the flag around, making myself completely vulnerable. I stepped over the hunters traps with ease, passing groups of campers who were trapped in small groups by rope or holes in the ground. They all glared as they saw the flag in my grasp. I gave them mocking salutes, still whistling before chuckling at them.
"The hunters will come back sooner or later to free you." I said, before walking up to the labyrinth entrance and securing our win. The hunters cheered as I gave them a mock bow.
"That was very quick Demèo, a record in fact. What did you do with Annabeth?" Thalia asked, approaching from the shadows around the entrance. I gave her a smirk before grabbing her shoulder and flashing us to the creek. Annabeth was still trying to break through my defences, sweat drenching her as she began to grow sluggish. I let out a silent chuckle as Thalia smacked her hand to her mouth. "I think you should stop it. But then again, she deserves it. I think you should just knock her out and end the fight," Thalia smirked, whilst placing her daggers back in her belt and pushing me into the clearing. I walked over to her and clicked my fingers, making the replica disappear in a burst of golden dust.
"What the..." She trailed off, before looking at me. She gritted her teeth before sloppily raising her dagger to meet me. "I have no qualms in going again." She said, wiping sweat off of her shiny forehead.
"I, however Athena spawn, do. I'm quite bored so we shall do this quickly. But, I do have to admire your resilience" I said, before flashing behind her and placed my hands either side of her head, slapping one hand on one side and catching her with the other. I slowly let go, so she was still standing but completely unconscious. I looked back around to see Thalia and the rest of the hunters impressed, watching as I dealt with her.
"It's called 'the kiss'. Takes years to master. She's completely unconscious." I said, smirking
"And that is another win for the Hunters of Artemis," Chiron shouted, clapping and smiling at me. I gave another mock bow before calling Will over to deal with her, and he quickly rushed over. As soon as he touched her arm she woke up with a start and leapt on Will, placing her dagger on his throat with a growl. She looked shocked once she come back to reality before glaring at me. I gave her a smirk before walking over to the hunters, who gave me high fives and fist bumped. I glanced at all the campers, who were grumbling under there breaths and glaring at us, all but one. Harvey was simply staring at Annabeth, shaking his head and rolling his eyes. He caught me staring, and gave me a worried look before smiling.
He knows something.
This chapter is short. I know. I'm sorry. I just wanted to get the game over quickly and then move onto the next part. The next chapter may be confusing for those of you who are not so knowledgeable in the Greek mythology for the minor gods... just a warning.
And Also...
Who actually likes what i'm writing. I'm curious. Do you think the storyline is good.
Have I described the characters correctly? Constructive criticism is ways welcome, be as harsh as you want.
Also, do you think I've added enough detail? Or do i need more?
Or am i worrying to much?
Anyway, I hope you lovely readers like this chapter. Thank you so much for sticking around long enough to read this far into the story. I take great joy in writing it.
See ya
