Matei and I were extremely bored. It was the day after school finally got out. I was thinking; Ugh, the next full moon isn't until the next month. Matei hated waiting like I was. Jana still had that plan. She calls it; 'The Games of the Wolfbloods.' Cheesy, I know. But Jana is a cheesy person at heart. I laughed when she originally told me. Then she said to meet her at the den in 5 minutes.
She has set up a few boats and mudslides. I shaked my head at it. She also formed a path into the woods. "Welcome to the games! You will go through a series of challenges, specially made for wolfbloods." She started.
"This is so ridiculous." Tj said.
"Agreed." Selena said.
"Come on, it'll be fun." Jana said.
"Fine." We said.
We followed Jana's instructions. We started with a swim race. Whoever gets to one side of the lake and back the fastest wins. Wolfbloods are not known for their swimming abilities, but made an exception this time. Everyone strips down. We had swimming attire, just for this.
When I saw Matei shirtless, oh boy. His abs and pecs are great. Just how I remembered. Selena stuck a toe in the water and whined; "Ugh, it's so cold."
"Quite being a whimp, come on." Tj said.
I dived right in and chased after Matei who was at least a meter ahead. I grabbed his ankle and pulled him under the water. He struggled and bubbles surfaced. "Oh my God. Let me go!" He said. I swam ahead and let him go. I got to one end and started swimming back.
After getting out of the water, Matei followed. "Next is the mudslides." Jana said. She sprayed an area with a hose. Matei and I slid right down the line of mud. We got super dirty. Matei still looked hot. There were splatters of mud on his chest and stomachs. I got my shirt on and we ran for the woods.
We had to run the whole perimeter of the woods. Whoever gets back first, wins. We ran, holding hands and giggling. I love it so much. Then I heard something from my left, humans. I sniffed them. I used my earpiece to contact Jana.
"There's humans. What do we do?" I asked.
"It's obvious what you do. Attack!" Jana yelled.
Matei and I's eyes changed colors and our veins surfaced. We attacked the humans. We bit their faces and scratched it. We left scars on them. One was left dead. The rest were passed out. We continued to run and got back to Jana. The rest of the pack asked what happened.
"One was left dead." Matei said.
"Wow, you guys are a power couple." Tj said.
We laughed. Jana was proud of us. "You know, if one comes, more come with it." Jana said.
"That's true. We need to run and find new territory." Matei said.
"We need to establish a plan first." Jana said.
"What kind of plan will that be this time?" Amelia asked.
"A plan that allows us to stay here and protect the secret. Running and killing humans isn't gonna help at all." Jana said.
We thought and thought about a perfect plan. When Tj thought he had a good plan, Jana disagreed. I had a plan. We stay here, but never attack another human again. Matei promised us that he would never do something that stupid again. Judging by his tone, he was serious. Jana's plan was; one avoiding Protocol 5, and two; staying away from any humans. The only humans we're allowed to see was our peers in school. This is getting a lot more strict, which is okay. As long as we're protecting the secret.
We went back to Segolia to go talk to Imara and her staff. Robyn also met with us. "What have you decided?" Imara asked. "Stay away from humans and avoid Protocol 5." Jana said.
"Simple and straight to the point, I like it." Robyn said.
"Good job, Jana. Now get out of here. Do your own thing, have some fun." Imara excused us from any duties.
We're free, yet again. The first thing we did was have a little fun in the forest. Selena and Tj followed us. They love running around with us. We like having races against each other. I held Matei's hand and Selena held Tj's. Once we got to the edge of our territory, we walked back. Once back to our house, we all hung out in the living room and watched a few movies. Tj and Selena were cuddled up against each other. Matei and I were doing the same. Eventually we all fell asleep except for Vallory, Skai, and Amelia. They were younger, they were able to stay up longer. They changed the movie to one of their favorites instead. They pressed play and started watching; 'Home.'
The next day, Amelia, the kids, Matei, and I ran out to the woods again. It was really early in the morning, about 5am, and we just sprinted throughout the woods. Then I smelled someone. It wasn't just anybody, it was another wolfblood. Matei and I got split up and I was left with only Amelia. The wolfblood was Madock! He growled and growled at us, then tackled us. His eyes were glowing. I growled back at him and bit his shoulder. He scratched my face, leaving a huge scar from my eyebrow down to my jawline. I was bleeding really badly. After Madock thought I was finished, he moved onto Amelia. I stood up with little strength. "You leave her alone, or you'll face the wrath of our pack." I warned. Madock did not care. He tackled Amelia to the ground and bit her really hard and didn't let go until she started to bleed. He let go, his jaws covered in blood. He growled down at Amelia and kept her pinned to the ground. I tackled Madock to the ground and bit him again. I howled as loud as I could. "Matei! Help! Matei!" Screamed Amelia. Matei must have heard us because he came bounding in with our kids. He helped us. Then the rest of the pack showed up.
"Madock, what are you doing here. Didn't you learn your lesson the last time?" Jana growled.
Soon after, Faith's pack showed up. We circled Madock and growled loudly at him. We took turns taking hits at Madock. He turned back to his human form after a while. He was whimpering, crawling about on the ground. "Please, have mercy on me. I have no hope left." He cried.
"Never! Leave, we don't need you here. It's either that or you'll be killed." Jana said.
"Go!" I growled.
Madock turned back to a wolf and ran away, deep into the forest. "Now, hopefully he won't come back." Matei said.
"Yeah." Tj said.
That was really scary. I didn't like that at all. I can't believe he showed up again after being exiled before. He can't return. Our pack is twice as big. He can't challenge us or he'll risk his life. No wolfblood should ever risk his life in order to have a huge ego. A wolfblood like that should be killed for his actions against the pack. After all the action today, we went over to the Kafe. We told Katrina and Robyn about everything. Jana put a bandage on my scar. She felt bad for what happened to me.
"You guys fought that guy again. Why would he ever come back?" Katrina asked.
"He wants revenge and he won't get it." Robyn said.
"Yeah, the pack is outnumbering him by a mile. He'll never beat us." Jana said.
"And with a alpha like you, I'm sure he won't beat us." I said.
Jana smiled. Katrina treated us with milkshakes and our favorite meals. Anything made of meat, duh. Our story doesn't end here. There's more challenges that we need to face every day. This is only the beginning. . .
