Dreams with a nightmare

It all started in a small town not far from the city of Miami , it was a cold dark winter night my mom was just getting ready to move our packages to our home in the ghettos of Miami . I got to find a job I can get to his mom explained .It don’t make no sense how I got 2 degrees and can’t get no job. We finally move in and into this apartment there were lots of drug dealers and hookers hanging around the door. One of them said I feel sorry for you. I just watched as we walked up the stairs. And a lady yells and throw a glass bottle at a man and says don’t come back no more. We quickly walked past that door and walks up another floor then we reached the door of our room. It wasn’t what I expected it to be but we were on a quiet floor so that didn’t really mater. I took my coat off and hung it on the rack. Mom told me to get my room unpacked and to help her set up the TV. Mom said she would

Take me to get my hair cut but I said ill wait Intell tomorrow .She said are u sure I said I am. We unpacked everything and eat dinner. Then I found something that belong to my dad that my mother never showed me it was a high school football champion photo and inside the picture frame a small letter fell out. It said

Dear Lena I’m sorry I had to tell you this but I’ve been selected to play outside the united states and I’m deeply in love with you but I have a dream to complete I know you will understand I’m doing this for you and for my family. As I was about to finish reading it I heard mom walking towards the door so I quickly sled it under my bed. Mom said what are you doing you suppose to get ready for bed. Ok I’m going to bed now. The next morning mom woke me up and said we going to your new school today so come on.

I got dress and me and mom walked downstairs to the car. We got in and drove off. As we were driving we had seen how bad the ghettos of the city were. Mom drove into the parking lot and got out and walked into the school with me, we both went into the office and talked with the principal. She directed me to the classroom. When I walked into the classroom everyone looked at me including the teacher sorry hun wrong class room this is the 10th grade class. I said I was in the 10thgrade. lots of students started whispering he’s small for his age .I went and sat down in my seat then some boy come up to me and said what’s up .I said nothing much. He said you not from around here are you? I said no I’m from a small town. Do you play video games? Yes I do I said .what’s your name I said Michael or you can call me mike.

The school day felt like it was long and as I was walking after the class bell ring I stepped on a poster I took it from my foot and look at it. It said football try outs tomorrow. I said hmm I think I will .I got home and saw mom sitting in her room with a friend. She said o hey Hun. I said nothing I had a good day at school. I got unpacked and went to look for something to wear for football practice. Then I stumbled across a box sitting in the hall way. When I looked inside it was football gear all I need and the shoes fit perfect. The day went by quickly and all I did was fix my room up and get ready for bed. Mom walks in and says what that is on the floor. Is that mud she says? o it must have come off my shoe. Make sure you are careful what you walk in. Ok I mumbled .The next day I woke up early to eat breakfast before school. I then woke mom up and told her I was staying after school for a project. Later at school I was walking to class and got pushed around by two other students name ray and keon. After school I walk into the gym and found the coach and he directed me towards the field. I seen all big kids not even close to my size’s I looked to the right then to the left and coach said well ant you going to join this circle. I nodded my head yes sir I said aloud. Other kids started laughing at me but I just looked away. Coach gave the most inspirational speech I have ever heard before. If you going through hell then keep going through it coach repeated.

We then sat down and filled out forms about health and grades. Just as we lined to run drills I didn’t know anything about the game. I tried to run a wide receiver route I failed I tried a slant route I failed.

Coach said boy if you don’t catch a ball soon I’m going to make you do 10 pushups. We then grouped up and said a little prayer then practice was over. I got home from practice and I saw mom acting kind of weird even her voice sounded a little different. I went and took a shower and went to bed. Next day came and I was so sleepy I forgot to take the trash out. So I grabbed the bag then walk outside I was dragging the bag down the steps so then some trash spilled out. I quickly picked the trash up as I was putting it in the bag I notice a clear jell cap I then thought it must have been already on the ground. I then went to school. In school we all waited for ms brooks our science teacher to get to school. This girl the most beautiful girl in the school was sitting in the back reading a book. I was so eager to talk with her I walked right into another student’s desk. She then looked over at me as I began dropping my books. As nervous as I am I still walked closer and closer Intel she said hey what’s up. I said nothing just chilling how about you. Well I am reading this book called quaterbackkeeper. What is it about I said? It’s about a good woman who has a relationship with a football player. Cool I said what quarterback. She said how did you know it was a quarterback? I said its called Quarterback keeper, true said the girl. Well

My name is Tamera said the girl. My name is mike I said. It’s just like mike Vick the quarterback in this book said Tamera. But you would never break nobody’s heart said Tamera. I looked at her with a smile and said thanks. We talked for a good while about life. Then before I could realize it class was over and the bell rang.
