one half

I pop a Skittle in my mouth as I walk into work, my converse squeaking the marble floor a little with each step I take. I chew the sweet candy as I wave and bow to the occasional people I pass on my way to my boss's office, not even slightly nervous. I've never done a bad deed in my work at BigHit Entertainment, and I don't intend to start now. If anything, I'm expecting a bonus or promotion, judging by the extra hours of hard work I've been putting into song writing and composition for BigHit's main boy group.

Of course, there's no way for me to know until I find out, right?

I swallow my half dissolved skittle and adjust my glasses before walking into his office.

My smile increased greatly when I saw Bang PD-Nim looking at me from behind his own glasses, a large smile evident on his face. I sighed a breath of relief, even if I'll swear to the moon and back that I wasn't nervous in the first place. I relaxed a bit as he motioned me to sit down, my heart rate decreasing from the incredible speed it once was beating at. I swear it was the sugar high.

"Now, Hyunju-ah, what did you say you joined this profession for?" He asked me quizzically, almost bouncing out of his seat in excitement.

"Honestly, I wanted to take care of the big stars. Make them feel normal again, and help them out. To be a manager, essentially." He squealed a bit as I said the word 'manager', his giddy reputation preceding him.

"And why do you think you were called here today?" He cleared his throat and tried to keep a straight face, but knowing him for years, I could see right through it.

"I'm not exactly sure, Sir. I hope it was for something positive though." He stood up and motioned for me to do so.

"And it is! I'd like to award you the position of our most popular group Bangtan Sonyeondan's Manager's Assistant! You'll be doing most of the work, it's just that we need the Manager to cover for your work, since our reputation is that we only hire married people. Please do well!" He shook my hand gently and pointed me to Bangtan's manager, whom I assumed was going to take me to their dorm.

As I walked with their "manager" I learned a few crucial details Bang PD forgot to mention in my short job description.

1. I will be making sure the boys are on their schedule.

2. I will be keeping them out of trouble.

3. I will have to lie and say I'm married.

4. I will have to dress conservatively, for their sanity.

5. I will have to wake them up.

6. They hate being woken up.

So basically, I'm their new mom, but with pay and minimal help. Perfect.

I hesitate as I hear the silence from inside the dorm they're supposed to be asleep in. Their manager behind me, a new Skittle on my tongue, I take my key, and unlock the door.
