Part 2/2

Gaping at the scene before me, I see the scarlet blood of both victim and attacker covering the ground.
My rock-solid grip tightens on the sword I hold; I refocus on the attackers In front of me.
Another Aucyhx charges straight for me.

I stand ready, sword held high...
Both of us swing our blades.
Then only darkness consumes my sights, pain spiking through my abdomen.
The only thing I can hear are voices...

"NO! (Y/N)!!!"
"She's not dead, yet."
"Save her!"
"I love you, (y/n)!"

"WAKE UP!"

"OH GOD!" I holler, sitting upright upon awakening.
My heart is slamming into my rib cage as I relive the dream over and over.
I rub my temples in a futile effort to calm my storm of thoughts.

Please wake up...

My thoughts silence at the sound of an unknown voice. Slowing my rapid breathing, I clamber out of bed.
"Just a dream," I mumble. "That mission didn't end like that..."
The mission to (planet's name) was successful, with both parties signing off on a treaty almost instantly.
"No one got hurt," I whisper, fixing my uniform. "I am just hearing things."
I nod, smiling slightly at my reflection in the crystal mirror. Stepping outside my quarters, I focus my attention to the pathway In front of me.
Stepping into the turbo-lift, I inhale sharply as the doors seal shut.

"What was that dream about again?" I ponder, waiting for the memory to resurface. Thinking deeply as the lift shoots upward, a familiar voice interjects.

"(Rank) (L/n), please report to Engineering." Commander LaForege orders through my emblem. "On my way." I answer, then ordering the turbo-lift to Main Engineering.

Stepping off the lift, I begin my search for my Visor-wearing friend, whom I discovered to be making adjustments to the quantum stabilizers.
"Can I help you, sir?" I inquire, my curiosity sparked.
"Yeah, (Name), could you..." As he assigns me an elementary task to complete, my thoughts wonder back to a certain someone.

William Riker, obviously.

"You got that?" Geordi finishes, examining my dazed figure.
"Y-yes sir!" I reply, a little too quickly.

Wake up...

My eyes widen in alarm as I search for the voice I heard.
"Woah, you okay?" Geordi asks, concern laced in his voice. "What's wrong?"
I shake my head while fixing my uniform, oozing with embarrassment. "Nothing, Geordi." I say. "I just thought I heard something."

He nods slowly, beginning to explain my task once more.
"Then you'll need t-"
The scenery changed...

I was back on the bloody battleground, my blood drizzling on the grass beneath me.
"A battle..?" I summarize, grunting, the pain in my stomach is agnostic.

This change is momentary, as it disappeared a flash. I stagger backwards, landing on my back with a groan.
A different scene takes over my sight.
I study the new chaos from the side, glimmering like a ghost, as a friend's hand held mine tightly.
Well, my body's hand.

"Medical bay?" I assume with confusion. "I was in Engineering a second ago!"

"WAKE UP!" The figure, dressed in red and black, begs my unconscious physique.
I step forward, halting at the sight of William Riker holding my hand, begging for a response that didn't come.
"Please wake up..."

I attempt to set my hand on his shoulder, calling out, "Will, I'm fine. Turn around!"
I was distressed when my hand went right through him...
