It was a month after Ladybug and Chat Noir perished while fighting Hawk Moth. One month after their identities were revealed.
One month after the Ladybug Miraculous was lost.
Three new heroes emerged from the streets of Paris to carry on the fight...
"M'lady!" Chat Noir shouted, reaching a gloved hand to his partner as she fell. "Chat!" Ladybug cried, losing her footing on the narrow ledge she landed on. Her yo-yo was nowhere to be found, and Chat was desperately trying to clammer down enough to reach her with his baton.
Chat's eyes were wide and filled with absolute fright as Ladybugs foot began to slide closer to the edge, while he continued down the wall. The surface became increasingly slick and difficult to grip as a soft drizzle of rain fell. As the feline superhero neared the ledge on which Ladybug desperately clung, a loud explosion sounded above them.
The resulting shockwave was enough to push Chat down to the ledge, but it also forced Ladybug off. Upon seeing his Lady falling to what may very well be her death, Chat let loose a loud yelp and dove after her, baton in hand.
"M'lady! Don't worry, I'm coming!" Chat shouted over the wind, which was practically screaming in his ears. Although he received no reply, he hoped that she was able to hear at least a glimmer of what he had said.
When he finally was able to wrap his arms around her protectively, Chat realized that he had lost his baton. Looking down at the ground, which was racing towards him, Chat felt a lone tear run down his face.
It was now that he realized that there was nothing to cushion their impact to the ground. Forming a plan in his head, Chat remained silent. When he had an idea, more tears joined the raindrops rushing down his face.
He would absorb most of the impact, and push his Lady upwards just before hitting the ground. Chat knew a fall from this height would certainly kill him, but it would be worth it if he could save Ladybug.
Sobbing quietly, he leaned forward and whispered gently into Ladybugs ear a faint "I love you" before thrusting her upwards and away from the ground with as much force as he could muster.
A sickening crack was heard, and Chat suddenly saw complete darkness.

Ladybug landed on her ankle, but was otherwise unharmed. However, when she turned around to find Chat's limp and battered form on the ground beside her, she choked out a heavy sob.
"Chat?" She said weakly, stumbling over to her lifeless partner, ignoring the excruciating pain flaring from her left ankle.
No response.
"Chat?!" She tried again, this time louder.
No response.
"CHAT NOIR?!" Ladybug shouted, clutching her partners shoulders and shaking him roughly.
He gave no answer.
Ladybug frantically searched for a pulse, not noticing that her transformation was disappearing.
After several desperate minutes of searching, Marinette came to the realization that Chat was... gone. Shaking and racked by powerful sobs, she watched as a bright green light shone around Chat's body, fading to reveal a face Marinette did not want to see.
"A-Adrien?! N-No!!" Marinette shouted, once more holding her deceased partner in her arms. She buried her face in the crook of his neck, crying uncontrollably.
She was unaware of a figure lurking in the darkness, watching the entire scene unfold. Alya, whom was still recording for the Ladyblog, remained hidden as footsteps approached her friend.
"Tsk tsk, its such a shame...~ if you had only given me your miraculous..." A mans voice said, stepping into view of the camera and grieving super heroine.
A glowing butterfly insignia appeared, as Hawk Moth himself appeared.
His feet made a low clicking sound as he slowly walked further into view.
"Hawk Moth..." Marinette spat, turning to face the villain with eyes full of rage. Her fists clenched tighter as she swiveled her head to watch as he circled her, like a predator circles prey.
"It really is a shame it came to this.~" Hawk Moth continued, twirling his cane in his hands.
"How about you and I make a bit of an agreement, hm?~ You give me your miraculous, and I'll-"
"No."
"I'm sorry?~"
"There's no way in hell I'm giving you my miraculous, Hawk Moth."
As Marinette struggles to stand, she faces Hawk Moth with an enraged expression, if looks could kill then he'd wish he was dead.
"Fufufu...~ I'm afraid you have no choice...~"
Marinette hisses in pain, but manages to aggressively limp her way to Hawk Moth.
"NO. There is always a choice!" She shouts, attempting to punch Hawk Moth in the jaw, but he catches it with ease.
"Again, it shouldn't have come to this...~"

Alya quietly gasped as Marinette's body hit the floor.
After a few hours, Master Fu finally arrived at the location. Once he had recovered the Cat miraculous, he reached to remove the Ladybug earrings.
But they weren't there...
