Charlotte Gray was born to Nick and June Gray. When she was born, her parents had no clue she was a witch.
At age 6, her parents noticed she acted kinda weird. They would here her mumble things that they didn't understand. They also realized things would go missing from the kitchen.
One time, her mom caught her with some flour, dirt, and water. When her mother asked her what she was doing, Charlotte replied, "I'm making a potion."
Those weren't all the weird things their daughter did. When she was 8, she was drinking a glass of water. Suddenly, it turned into ice. Her mother looked at it and gasped. 'How did that happen' she thought.
It wasn't until a few days later that June realized something. Her daughter was a witch! She remembered that there was long line of witches and wizards on her side of the family.
She didn't want a witch in the family because her great grandfather, who was a wizard, killed 6 people with his powers.
When she told Nick, he agreed that Charlotte had to go. Nick knew where a cabin far away from the village was.
On Charlotte's ninth birthday, her mother made her some bread and milk for breakfast. After she ate, her parents took her to the cabin and left her.
Charlotte understood. She knew they would probably be frightened by her powers. She didn't really mind be alone as long as she had a nice place to stay.
Apparently, her parents snuck out of the house and came and fixed up the cabin for her. They put a stove and cabinets in a corner and a bed in another. They put her stuffed toys in a box next to her bed. They left some food and a hunting knife with her.
Her father had taught her how to hunt. She knew how to hunt with a knife and a bow and arrows. She also use her powers.
Guess it was time to start her new life......alone.
