"So you're meaning to tell me that you had rather called your doctor rather than your brother to ask for help?" Gabriel growled.
"Y-yes, but it was only because of the fact that he is a professional and he was closer. And I didn't want to intrude with what you and that taller man were doing.."
"......" Castiel chuckled. "Come on, I may be a little bad on my judgement sometimes, but you're my brother. I know when you are interested in a person, so much so that you start to make these cute googoo eyes-" "Ok, ok. I get it. But I can say the same for your little boyfriend at the hospital." Castiel blushed at this comment and turned away. He knew it was true, but he didn't want to admit it to Gabriel because then something would come out and it would be high school all over again for him. He doesn't want to be outted in his board meetings just because he was batting for the other team. He just wanted to be treated like a human being.
"No, Gabriel. I do not like him. I just.... I can't explain... He's just good person and I feel like letting him know who-... what I am, will change his perspective of my being." Cas shuttered.
Gabriel noticed Castiel's anxiety and regretfulness, almost knowing exactly what his brother was thinking. "Hey, wait no. I didn't mean it like that. You know I will always love you, little brother. Those problems were a thing of the past, and now look at you! You're better than ever. If you don't want to tell me about it, it's fine. I just wanna be there for you and support your decisions, even though you could have called me to help." Gabriel chuckled playfully. Castiel laughed with him, "Trust me, you were my first decision. But I didn't want you to be a worry wart like when I crashed." "Well, EXCUUUUUUSE ME for being caring!" Gabriel exaggerated.
"I'm just kidding. Anywayyyss, so what's going to happen? I'm not going to have to live here, am I?" Gabriel grinned. Castiel hesitated for a second, until he said "Well, YOU'RE not going to have to live here because... my doctor... is going to live here. I didn't ask him to, but he kindly offered. And after he kissed-....." Castiel stopped abruptly but before he could take it back, Gabriel was smiling from ear to ear. He knew that Cas wanted Dean all to himself and he just wanted his little brother to be happy. "Hey. It's okay. Just let me know when the wedding is going to be." , Gabriel winked. Cas blushed and was startled when heard his front door open. They both heard the heavy footsteps and huffing of a man. They waited for a while to only see Dean walk in with three luggages in hand. He put them down near one of Castiel's couches in the living room and slowly walked into the kitchen. He confidently said, sticking out a hand, "Hello, my name is-" "Doctor Dean Winchester", Gabriel grabbed his hand firmly and shook it hard. "The man who saved my brother's life twice! Man, I couldn't be anymore thankful to you."
Dean sheepishly nodded, " Thank YOU for letting me save him." They both had a great laugh mean while Castiel was dumbfounded as to how Dean and his brother could get along so well. He shook his head in disbelief and interrupted the male bonding moment. "Well, thank you for coming. I hope I won't be such a disturbance to you with your schedule and all-" "No, no, no. I don't mind it at all. As long as I'm here, I'll make sure that you will be okay." Dean smiled that flashy smile that made Cas blush all over again. Gabriel felt a little awkward now that he could tell Dean would probably start flirting with his brother so he announced his departure, hugged his brother, shook Dean's hand once more, and left to go with Sam - who was waiting for him just outside.
Dean turned back around to Cas and said, "Your brother may be short but he sure is very protective, isn't he?" Cas chuckled, " You can tell that much, huh? Well, what would you expect for an older brother to do?" Dean nodded in agreement, it reminded him of his relationship with his brother. Although it annoyed Sam so much at times because it made him embarrassed by his older brother for acting like such a dad, he couldn't complain. Especially after their father had died when Sam was 12. Sure they lived with their Uncle Bobby, but it just wasn't the same without their dad.
Castiel noticed a slight change in Dean's overall body language, as if he were remembering of a nostalgic time in his life. He didn't want to see him so down so he tried to cheer him up. "Hey, so you're gonna live with me now, huh? Guess you're gonna have to put up with me." This made Dean come back to his current self. Dean grinned back, "Nonsense, you are very nice to hang around. I actually wouldn't mind you around. I kinda enjoy having you around." Castiel blushed at the very direct comment, might as well call him part of the tomato family by how red he was. It seemed like forever since some one, other than his close family, had seemed so intrigued and interested in Castiel that it had almost caught him off guard. Castiel shook his head in shyness, "A-Anyways, do you want me to show you to your room? Here I'll help with your ba-" Before Castiel could reach for a bag, Dean had went in between Cas and one of his bags and gently grasped at Castiel's wrist. "No..... N-No it's alright, I don't want you to fall or anything again so I'LL do the heavy lifting. And YOU can lead the way." Dean smiled brightly, slowly reaching his right hand to gently caress the side of Castiel's neck.
This sent shivers down Cas's spine. How can this man, mind you a real nice hunk of a man, have such an effect on him that may send him back to the hospital from a heart attack? He had truly never felt this way before with another person and, for some reason, made this interaction much more special than what it looked to be. Cas smiled back and looked closely into Dean's eyes, those beautiful hazel green eyes. Cas doesn't know what it is, but it seems as if Dean's eyes were glowing from the sun hitting them at such a perfect angle. He almost seemed angelic to Cas.
"Hey, Cas? You okay?" Cas was brought back to reality from the same man that put him in that dazed state. He now noticed that both of Dean's hands were on his face, eyes now filled with slight worry. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to doze off like that. It's just... never mind. Let me show you where you will be staying." Cas lead Dean to the guest bedroom downstairs. Dean walked in and was astonished to see that the guest bed was in fact a king sized bed, much bigger than the bed he had at home. Dean looked around at the big room, it almost seemed too much for him. Then Dean realized something: because he was sleeping here, that meant Cas was sleeping upstairs. He mentally gasped at the fact the Cas might get himself hurt and had visions of Cas falling down those steps and how he might not make it in time to save Cas....
Dean was having none of that. He dropped his things and turned around before Cas could walk out the door. "And where do you think you're going?" Cas turned around in confusion, but before he could say anything, Dean interrupted his thoughts. "You are going to sleep with me." Cas blushed at the sudden 'confidence' of Dean that he remained speechless. It took a couple seconds before Dean realized what he said and profusely apologized. "Oh my- Jesus Christ- I'm so sorry, I apologize for having it come out in that way I didn't mean to it just slipped out-" Cas was so amused by this that he giggled slightly. "Calm down Dr. Winchester, I understood what you meant." Cas chuckled. Dean laughed at his own embarrassment as well. It wasn't till a few seconds later that Dean had noticed he was holding on to Castiel's hand until he tried to calm himself down. He looked sheepishly at Cas and said, "and by the way, you can call me Dean." Cas blushed slightly and repeated the name, "Dean. Well, let's help you unpack your things then"
