I KNOW I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN FOREVER AND HERE'S WHY.
Firstly, I started writing this story when I was 14 and dumb. I say dumb because I didn't really think the story through. I just had this idea and immediately posted it. But, I didn't do like a rough draft and then a final draft so, in my opinion, it didn't turn out very good. Like I said I was fourteen when I started writing this. At 14, I had no idea how to write romance because I had never been in a relationship. So, the story felt like a child playing pretend when I was writing it in my opinion. I'm now sixteen and I've still never been in a relationship, but based off people watching, which I do a lot of, and reading different books, I've learned more about what kind of relationship I would like to write about.
Second, one of the biggest reasons I think it didn't turn out very good was because, I wrote James as the school's man whore/player. Which, is so overused and dumb, but I had been reading so many stories with that in it, that I incorporated it into my book. I didn't think about how unoriginal or cliché it was. Or about the fact that while we're all reading these books with the guy lead character being someone who sleeps around, we're acting like STDs don't exist. A guy can't literally sleep with a gazillion girls (or the whole school as some books say) and not get a STD. And even if he didn't get a disease that's just gross 😷. I personally believe that two people should only have sex when they're in love. That's my OPINION, I'm not judging people who don't. I just don't want that for my characters.
Second (and a half): Plus I think using the story idea or plot where the guy is a player or a bad boy and then he changes for the good girl; I think it gives young girls the false impression that they can take a guy who won't commit or who has bad habits and change him or that he'll willingly change for them. I'm not saying it's impossible, some people change, but the sad reality is that most don't. And I'm not saying that I don't like books with the player/BadBoy who changes for the girl, I've read plenty of books like that and enjoyed them too. I'm just saying that isn't how I prefer to write and that there's honestly a billion books out there like that, so I don't want to write the billion and first book like that. I probably lost you guys sorry 😂.
Third, I wrote a lot about them being in school. I feel like this book was coming out as more of a teen fiction then a werewolf book. So, I'll be changing that. I'll probably bump Riley, Josh, Kendall, and James up to seniors and focus less on their school day. Or I might just make them nineteen and not in school? Blake will probably be a pack warrior instead of being in school I think. I'm still figuring it out because I really like how Blake and Mia met so I don't really want to cut that part. So maybe, I'll make Blake and Mia have met a year ago, but in the same way? I'm just typing as I think now so yeah that's probably how it will be. Thoughts anyone?
SO, THIS STORY WILL BE UNDERGOING MAJOR EDITING AND REWRITING...
It won't be right now because my family is going through a hard time and waiting for news on if this horrible situation we might be facing, has actually happened. So, I'll be writing the new version, but I'm not sure when it will be posted.
In conclusion, I will be fixing and then finishing this book. So if you're still interested you'll have that to look forward to in the future. If you're like "It's been months and now you're telling me you're rewriting and don't know when you'll post it I'm not even interested anymore...I'm gone peace out buh-bye. " Well then I understand that too.
