"Dear they are already here", urgency in her voice is obvious as Mr Gupta is pacing outside her room.
Reena gets up from the bed and walks into her bathroom to freshen up. In a while she comes out to find her room neatly arranged, the bed sheet starts to hurt her eyes, she never liked roses much. She notices the bright pink saree lying on one side of the bed with the matching jewellery, obviously her sister's choice.
The discussion has already started in the drawing room. She can hear them talk about her love for paintings. She goes out and walks into the kitchen straight away, not even giving a glance towards the guests whom her father is engaging with the liking and disliking of hers. "From when did he know my liking and disliking?" she thought to herself. She picks up the tray loaded with tea cups and walks into the drawing room. She serves tea to the parents of the suitor and then turns to serve the guy, who is sitting next to her father.
"What in the world are you doing here?", she reacted before she digests in the fact that the person sitting with her father is Rohit.
"I guess you know that", he replies with a blush on his cheeks.
"So that's the reason you left early today?"
"I guess so"
"Stopping using 'I guess', I am irritated enough to spare me with this repeated phrase", she forgets about the people present in the situation.
"Alright! Will you please marry me?", the astonishment is on everyone's face as he kneels down for the picture perfect proposal pose, everyone except Meena's. The only person who has a clue of what is going to happen next.
She senses everyone's eye boring into her for a reply, "Can I talk to you for a minute. In my room. Privately."
Both of them moves into her room, leaving the crowd in a perplexed confusion. They resumed their talks. Meena retires to the kitchen.
"I don't want to see your face ever again."
All of them gets to their feet, everyone's eye glued on Rohit. He returns to the drawing room closing the door behind. He apologizes to Reena's family, thanks to them for their hospitality and leaves in an instant. His parents followed him in a short while after thanking and receiving an apology from their host. Mr Gupta leaves to accompany them to the parking, constantly apologizing.
Meena knocks on her door and when she doesn't get any reply, she gets in. She looks for her sister and finds her all crawled up on the bedside.
