Readers gender is not specified.  Also sorry, I'm not going to sweep through this and clean it. I'm not really in the mood for improving the story right now, also I am too lazy. I will, on the other hand, fix spelling mistakes and such.

You looked around, seeing all the campers doing their own thing. Today was a free day, the campers were able to do whatever they wanted as long as it wasn't too dangerous. Like, trying to hunt down a bear or throwing Space Kid at the wolves. Which was what Nikki had done before. You took a deep breath, exhaling. "(Y/N)! Isn't this such a wondrous day?" David stopped right next to you, putting his hands on his hips. A smile was platered onto his face and you looked into his green eyes. You nodded. "Yep. It is, nice and warm and not too hot." You replied, your (H/L) (H/C) hair bouncing/blowing in the slight wind. You closed your (E/C) eyes, savoring the moment. "It sure is a wonderful day for hiking! What do you say, (Y/N)?" David looked at you with a smile. Caught off guard, you looked at him, eyes snapping open. You hummed for him to repeat. "Don't you agree that today is a great day to go hiking?" He repeated, the same smile on his face. You looked at him, opening your mouth to reply but instead a scream rang from the camp. You both looked over, seeing that Nerris and Harrison were fighting. Nerris had brought out her foam sword and began to swing at Harrison, causing him to shreik and try to swat the sword away. You jogged over to them, stopping. "Hey! What's with all the bickering and fighting about?" You asked, looking at the two. Nerris stopped swinging her sword, pointing at Harrison. "He said that he's a better magician than I!" She exclaimed. "Well it's true!" Harrison retorted. Before they could get back to fighting you spoke up. "Now, now, you two. You both are amazing magicians. Now stop your bickering and make up." You told them, giving them a smile. Your (E/C) orbs shining. They nodded, seeming content. "Good." You smiled and stood up, turning around and walking calmly over to David.

"That should at least stop them from fighting, for now anyway." You said as you approached the red head. His smile grew (if that was even possible). "Yup!" He agreed with you. "Back to talking about hiking today, would you like to go on one? With me?" You asked, hoping the nature enthusiast would say yes to your hangout. "Of course! It'd be great to go on a hike with you, (Y/N)!" David replied, stars in his eyes. "That's great! Gwen can keep an eye on the kids, c'mon! Let's go." You were excited to go on a hike with David. Well, it was because you liked David. A lot. Since you've been working here, you liked David as a friend. Now? Those feelings have grown since the last two summers. You just thought that David would kindly reject you, so you never made any advances. Only subtle hints. Though, he never caught on. Besides that, you sort of managed to distract yourself from these feelings.

Right now you were now walking with David. Obviously. You were on a worn out trail to Sleepy Peak. You heard birds singing not too far away from where you both walked, and squirrels chattering amongst themselves. Although this was background noise. Both you and David were chatting. You both were talking about your interests and what you do during off season. You lived in an apartment, and you worked as a barista at a local Cafe. David worked someplace else (I honestly had no idea where he'd work so- think of a random place?) You both reached the end of the trail, taking a break before heading back. This gave you both more conversation time, even though you both could talk on the way back. You could see that it was starting to head into the evening hours. You both were hiking for maybe an hour.

"I guess we should start heading back, (Y/N)." David said, looking up at the sky. "Yup! Guess we got carried away in our conversation there." You replied, rubbing the back of your neck and standing up. David nodded, bouncing up. "Alright! Let's get a move on!" He shouted, walking with a pep in his step. You followed suit, continuing the small conversation. It didn't feel long until you both arrived at Camp. The campers were no longer outside. You opened the doors to the mess hall, greeted with loud chatter and shouts of the campers. It had been better on the hike, quiet and everything.

"Finally, you two are back! Now I can go back to watching my show." Gwen told us, breathing in relief as she walked out of the loud place. Walking inside of the mess hall, you seen that QM was no where to be seen. You shrugged, he was  mostly gone anyway. Sometimes mysteriously disappearing to do his own stuff. You grabbed a plate of food, sitting down. David sat next to you, still wearing that same smile.

"That was a great hike, thank you for coming with me!" David said, stars in his eyes. That seemed to happen every now and then. Seeing stars in his eyes, I mean. "Yeah, it was fun. Especially that I went on it with you." You said the last thing to yourself, shoving a forkful of whatever was on your plate into your mouth. "With me?" David asked, also beginning to eat. You gulped, it hurt because you weren't really even done chewing, you didn't really expect him to hear that. "Uh, y-yeah! You know, because you're great and all that." You replied nervously. "You know the way better and stuff- um." Blushing, you thought of other things to say, when suddenly you found your tray of uneaten food interesting. It was just to distract your mind from David. "You okay? You seem a tad bit nervous there. Something wrong?" David asked, looking at you while putting some food in his mouth. You shot up. "What? No! What makes you think that? I mean- we're canoeing tomorrow and I'm nervous about that and I didn't want to tell you because that's an embarrassing thing to say and all that stuff, okay I'm full, bye!" You replied quickly, standing up and jogging out the door. You lied. Though, it sounded fair enough. When you guys went canoeing last week, you ended up tilting your canoe over and falling into the lake. You panicked and had to have Gwen get you out. Whoops.

You made your way over to the lake, sitting down and watching as the water pushed itself onto the bank and back. The water was a warm orange, the sun slowly setting. You almost slipped out your feelings for David right in front of him. You let out a sigh, why were these feeling so hard to contain? Hearing footsteps behind you, you turned around and seen David. He gave you a smile. Sitting down beside you and hugging his knees to his chest, he spoke up.

"Why'd you run out here? You know, besides being full?" David asked, chuckling. Oh no, he just HAD to follow you out here, didn't he? You began to fidget, sighing and hiding your face in your knees. "Why is it so hard to talk to you?" You said, your voice muffled. "Hm? It's not that hard to talk to me! You were talking to me not too long ago!" David said cheerfully. "Yeah but now it's just really hard to talk to you all of a sudden." You said, hiding your face even more. "Why? Or why do you think?" You heard the small smile in his voice. "It may be because I like you. A lot." You replied, the words slipping out of your mouth. "You like me?" David asked, making you shoot up and look at him, nervously darting your eyes around. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that! I mean I do like you but I know you don't like me so-" Your rambling continued as David tried to calm you down. He leaned forward and caught you in a chaste kiss, shutting you up. A blush spread across both of your cheeks as David pulled away. You covered your face, inwardly squealing. This made David chuckle.

"I like you a lot too." He admitted, the smile evident in his voice. Uncovering your face, you leaned against him, nervously smiling.

Hello, it's me. Sorry if this still somewhat sucks, I'll try making better one-shots. (April 21, 2018)
