-It's taken me a couple of days to get my hands on a clean notebook and a sharpened pencil. The C.O.s (correctional officers, aka the guards), haven't trusted me enough yet to allow me to be in possession of such things. Well, it's not like they trust me now. My counselor had to make them get me some. (Everyone has a counselor to talk to in this prison). What's annoying is that they have to keep checking on me to make sure I'm not harming myself with the pencil or trying to create a fire with the paper. I'm not like some of these insane inmates! I won't do something stupid!
-Anyways I'm using this book to document my time here in to see if I can make use of all this lost time from the outside. I know what I did was wrong, and no matter how much I beat myself up for it, they'll never understand how much I want to change my ways for the better. So, I want to see if I can change those bad habits before I get released. I'm not sure if I can keep up with each day in here, but I'll try. It's currently 1 am and I'm using the dim light from my bunkmate's digital clock to see. They have night light things here, just in case to see if the inmates dared to try anything. They even have a guard keeping watch all night!
-I wouldn't be up this late if I hadn't been disturbed by another inmate earlier on my first attempt to jot down my thoughts.
