The Girl of the Flame

Chapter 4

Han woke up in the new room the Black Knight rented for him. Han walked out of the tavern with his bags of supplies, returning back to his home and Isabelle. As he walked down the trail through the forest, he saw a knight riding towards the castle, from the direction of the tavern. He arrived at the tavern and peeked through the door. Isabelle was sweeping the tavern.

He burst through the doors, "Happy Birthday Isabelle!" She turned to see Han with a bright smile and hugged him with a tight grip. "Did you really miss me that much?", asked Han. Isabelle shook her head, "Nope. I'm just really happy today." When Isabelle finally released Han he gave her three bags. "These bags have a gift in each, then I have some great news for you." Isabelle nodded and started to explore what were in the bags. One had a beautiful blue dress, the second one had a golden chest armor, and the third had an envelope.

"Now wait to open that envelope. It goes with the news i have to tell you. But first...," said Han as he reached to a large crate behind him. Isabelle pried the crate open to find a huge sword. "Ok, now Isabelle, please don't panic. Ok?", said Han. Isabelle nodded. He took a deep breath, "That envelope holds an invitation to a royal ball being held tonight at the castle. And at this ball you are to meet your real parents."

Isabelle gasped in shock, "M-My r-r-real p-parents? Are you serious!" Han nodded. She started to cry, and Han hugged Isabelle, "I know. I know. It's going to be alright. I need you to get dressed right away for the ball." Isabelle nodded and grabbed her things. She ran upstairs and changed out of her filthy clothes in her beautiful dress.

She twirled in her dress. In this moment she felt and looked like a princess. Han walked into Isabelle's room, dressed in a formal suit. He placed a tiara on Isabelle's head. "For you my princess.", said Han. He walked outside and hired a carriage. Nightfall fell upon them. Isabelle walked outside to meet up with Han. Her blueish-green eyes sparkled in the moonlight like her tiara that was bestowed upon her head.

Han helped Isabelle into the large carriage. He followed in after Isabelle and signaled the driver to be off. As the carriage slowly made its way through the forest. They were off the the ball, destiny, and possibly their doom.
