                                                                                   Chapter three

"Can I please have a sandwich with my meal?" I ask politely to the cafeteria lady.

All the students sit in little groups, talking, gossiping and laughing with each other. It's pretty obvious that their group has boundaries of who to sit with, or who to hang out with. There are a lot of students that attend this school, ages that range from fifteen to eighteen or maybe even twenty.

"No, sorry. What you get is what you eat." The cafeteria lady, replied codly.

I nodded and I gripped my tray as I made my way out of the line of people, ordering their meal.

There's not much I can do about that. I can't just bribe her with money, or can I? I'm going to choose not to. If i'm going to be receiving low quality food everyday, I'd rather just pack my own lunch but the thing is, It's a boarding school. I don't return back home until the term finishes. This is going to be hell.

I walked around the cafeteria, searching for an empty seat or table.

I stand in the middle of the cafeteria, awkwardly. Looking to my left and right. Until, my eyes become immovable at the sight of him.

There he is. I catch sight of Ethan with the jocks. They're all goofing around and laughing incredibly loudly. His eyes are glossy and beautifully coloured in blue. He smiles and laughs at the jokes that his friends are telling him. His smile. He's so impossibly beautiful.

Why does that bitch have to date him?

As I remain in the same position, something bumps into me and feel a cold liquid dripping down my shirt.

I gasp.

"Oh my god, I am so sorry. I didn't see you there." Mercedes covers her mouth with her hand, in a surprised manner.

She spills her chocolate drink, all over my shirt.

That bitch.

Kayla giggles behind her and Mercedes smirks at me.

What she did, was definitely intentional.

Everyone pauses and silently witnesses the scene. Everyone looks at me and Mercedes. I hear giggles in the background and people staring at my shirt. Girls widen their eyes at the scene and boys form an 'o' shape with their mouths, just looking fixedly at me.

I lay my eyes on Ethan, who is only a few metres from me and the scene. I study his facial expression, the ends of his lips are curved, resisting the smile that he's going to give me. He crinkles his nose trying to hide his smile and Mercedes winks at him.

Ugh, this is so embarrassing.

After the awkward silence, everyone laughs at me and Mercedes points at my shirt while throwing her head back and laughing.

Everyone begins to name call me.

Kayla high fives Mercedes and they both give me a smirk.

I slide my hands down my shirt and flick the liquid off my hands.

Tears form in embarrassment.

I can't believe this is happening to me. I thought to myself.

This can't be happening. I only started attending this school, not so long ago and my own roommate just embarrassed me infront of almost five hundred students.
