Leo Valdez was tired of being the seventh wheel. He didn't reveal that to anyone though. Even if he did, they had bigger problems to deal with. It has only been two days since Percy and Annabeth's rescue from Tartarus, and honestly, his problems seemed pretty petty compared to the two oldest demigods in their group. (Not counting Nico and Hazel's actual age, of course. Since the two children of Hades/Pluto were technically decades older then them. Which was still odd to believe for Leo.)

But Leo was exhausted. Ever since he landed in the gods' forsaken island, Leo couldn't seem to forget the marooned Titaness. Leo was used to loneliness. It never bothered him as much as it did now. Even after all the times he ran from those foster homes he was in. Of course, until a crazy Titaness ruined it for him the moment she complained about the noises he was making. Okay, okay, maybe ruined wasn't a good word, but Leo didn't feel like getting a Thesaurus to find a better word. Granted he could ask their walking thesaurus (Annabeth), but Leo still felt guilty about Percy and Annabeth's situation.

Leo sighed. His gaze drifted from the front of the Argo II to Percy and Annabeth, then Jason and Piper, and finally to Hazel and Frank. He looked away after a while. As usual, Nico was no where to be seen. Nico was someone Leo could somewhat connect with... if you look passed the scary, "death" vibe Nico emitted. But Nico didn't seem to mind being alone. Of course, looks could be deceiving. Leo was far more knowledgeable of how deceiving appearances (and attitude) could be. After all, for him, humor was his way of hiding the pain he felt inside. He didn't mind as much though.

... Until Calypso. The Titan who was cursed to fall in love with just about any hero who came to her island. The Titan who had unintentionally caused him to not only want to be somebody to someone... but more specifically, Leo wanted to be somebody to her.

He wanted to be somebody important to her. Not just to be another (unwanted) hero that she was forced to love due to her curse. He wanted to hold her and protect her from the crazy Earth Lady who wanted to kill everyone. He wanted to warm her up from the cold storm of war headed their way.

He had sworn on the River Styx that he would return. And that was an oath he would keep. No matter what because for once in his miserable demigod life, he felt special... like somebody who mattered. Not just a third or seventh wheel. And to feel like somebody important... well, it was a euphoric feeling he had not felt since... his mother. And just for that, he wanted to be the hero who actually returned to her. He wanted to be the one to truly free her. Because...

She could pretend that he was annoying and loud all she wanted... But as long as he was someone to her... As long as she stayed on Team Leo...

Screw the end of the world. If Calypso was on Team Leo, there was no way in Hades the world will fall under Bad Boy Supreme's eyes.
