in a dimly lit room that smelt of blood alcohol and burned incense
a man lie still in bed wrapped in bandages unable to move.
a man dressed in a dirty white hoodie enters the room.
"son you're fighting a war that no one wins i hope you know that."
"mhm"the bandaged man grumbles.
"you'd be dead if it wasn't for those kids dragging your ass down here.
im surprised you were even that lucky they don't like strangers and you sir are as strange as they come."
the bandaged man chuckled a little before tilting his head back and giving out a sigh of relief.
"do you even know how long you've been down here kid"
the bandaged man shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly and smirked so distinctly it showed through the dirty cloth around his mouth.
the man pulled off his hoodie to reveal a tired eyed silver haired guy no older than
25.
"i just wanted to say thank you for saving those kids. they told me how you covered them when the frag went off i keep telling them to stop going to the surface maybe this time they'll listen."
now about your injuries"
the hooded man walked over and grabbed the clipboard at the foot of the bed.
" we tried to remove the shrapnel from your flesh but we couldn't find any of it. now imagine my surprise when i heard about a body riddled with holes and no exit wounds has nothing in it."
a few minutes had passed and neither of them moved a muscle or said a word.
the hooded man reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a syringe.
"now this is a neurotoxin i want to say its like a truth serum but its much more violent than that
i just need some answers from you. i appreciate everything that youve done saving my brothers and sisters but the last person who was saved choked the man who saved him to death. i want to trust you but i cant take that chance i hope you'll understand."
he prepped the syringe and inserted it into the vein on his wrist the bandaged mans eyes opened wide.
"im glad to have gotten youre attention" the hooded man said as he smiled wide.
"now here comes the fun part ill show you how it works . now the brain releases certain chemicals when you lie and this reacts violently with those. now im going to unwrap your mouth so you can ask me some questions i think thats fair don't you? and afterward its your turn to answer some of mine.
a hoarsely parched voice spoke "whhhhy?"
"why you ask heh, why not i figure ill give you a fair chance at learning before I test you"
"who?"
the names Korri and you can think of me as the "physician on duty" until that is.
"until what"
well until you lie to me of course because then ill be your mortician as long as you dont object of course. however i feel under those turn of events you wont be objecting to very much well at least id hope not im not very fond of "those who wake". But ive gone on enough any more questions?
"..."
oh poor sport i see well thats too bad i barely get to talk to my patients but no matter i suppose its your turn to answer some of my questions .
(korri stood prepping another syringe from his pocket he himself seeming so fascinated with his work. he approached the bandaged man removing the wraps fro his wrist and inserting the freshly filled syringe he could feel the needle scrape the bone.)
"now then lets start with something easy to see if its working, so what color is my hoodie"
"Dirty"he answered
oh so you think youre funny! i like that.
now how bout you give me a real answer this time who are you?
"im me"
sigh...ok you piece of shit you know if you slip up you will kill yourself
do you want to die?
yeAHHHHHHHHHHHH
(the man started thriving in the bed and screaming, korri only watched unti he fell silent)
"to think i thought you'd be different but they always leave me before i finish"
"OH Nikki " korri called out toward the hallway.
yea whats up
"he didnt make it" korri said
thats not a shock your a horrible doctor
"not my fault but can you ask one of the kids to bring me my equipment i may as well start the autopsy while hes still fresh."
youve got one fucked up hobby you know that.
but i suppose no harm done as long as it keeps you away from me
"now now we both know you cant wait to to be under the knife with me again"
(The faint sound of bones cracking fill the air as nikki clenches her fist)
"NIKKI your stitches ! I know you cant feel that but i can smell your blood running "
"i'm pretty sure i didnt ask for your consideration."
"Yeah next time you go bleeding out with your entrails scattered across the alley ill remember to get you to sign a consent form"
Youre a real piece of shit you know that?"
