Why do you want to become a highly paid author?
I can show you how to achieve that goal, but unless you understand clearly why you want it, you'll probably just give up when the inevitable obstacles and challenges come up. I've seen it happen again and again. I'm sure you've seen it happen, too.
Without a clear purpose and reason why, you'll be like any other opportunity-seeker who's always looking for a new way to get rich quick but isn't willing to do the work it takes to achieve true, lasting success.
It's not enough to just get started. Sitting down and starting to write your book is a great first step, but it's not enough to guarantee success. Millions of people just like you and me sat down one day and started writing a book. A very small percentage of those people ever finished their first book, let alone published it. Regardless of how you may be feeling in this moment about writing, I think we can all agree that getting started is a lot easier than getting it done.
I don't want you to spend your entire life drifting from one "hot new opportunity" to another. I want to help you create lasting success! But you can't do that unless you're absolutely clear about why you want to become a highly paid author.
Clarity brings power. It makes things that seem complex, difficult or complicated to others become incredibly simple for you. Once you have clarity on what you want and why you want it, there's no question about whether or not you're going to do what it takes to succeed.
When you're crystal clear on your vision and purpose, it's like having a road map to making your dreams come true. You may not be able to predict all the bumps and alternate routes along the way, but you'll be able to see around the next curve and know you're headed in the right direction.
Clarity will also allow you to keep going and get back on track when something unexpected happens. Whether you get a flat tire, accidentally delete your manuscript or get negative feedback on your book, you'll be able to focus on solving the real problems and get back on the road a whole lot faster.
We all face problems in life. Having clarity can help us see our way through those problems so we can end up at our intended destination.
Action Steps
Right now, write down why you want to become a highly paid author in your journal or notebook. Write down every single reason you can think of―the more, the better.
Whoever has the biggest list of reasons to become successful wins!
Why is More Important Than How, What, When or Where
Getting clear on why you want to become a highly paid author is more important than the how's, what's, when's and where's. If you're not clear on why you're working so hard to become a highly paid author, you'll simply give up when times get tough.
When you get knocked down, bruised and bloodied by circumstances outside of your control, you'll be lying on the ground wondering why you ever wanted to face such pain just to become a highly paid author.
If you have a clear why when you get knocked down, you'll know why it's worth all the pain, effort and work. But if you don't know why, you'll just stay down there in pain. You won't get back up. You won't keep going. You'll quit! Quitting is the #1 cause of failure (in just about every area of life), and it's the only thing that can stop you from achieving your dreams.
That's why you will never achieve the success you say you want unless you know clearly why you want it. In this book, you're going to learn the how's, what's, where's, and when's of creating a successful business as a highly paid author. And make no mistake about it―becoming a highly paid author is running a business. Your why is the fuel that will keep your business going when other mere mortals would simply give up.
Others have described their why as a purpose, mission, or dharma. It's your driving force in life that gives you reasons to keep going when others would quit. Most people fail in life simply because they quit. They give up. They're just not willing to keep going in the face of failure.
If you want to become a highly paid author, you will have to be willing to face failure after failure after failure. You'll have to be willing to keep going in spite of what seem like insurmountable odds. That's the only way to achieve real, lasting success!
And trust me, it will be a whole lot easier once you find your why, your purpose, your mission in life.
