No one liked my smile. Dark citizens don't smile.

It was an extreme when Light Citizens believed people from the Dark Kingdom never smiled. They did in fact smiled. When their enemies were cut down, or when they saw others in pain while they were thriving in success. And all other situations such as this that made Dark Citizens smile.

Yes, Dark Citizens did smile sometimes. Just for different reasons than Light Citizens. But, there was one child who smiled no matter what the situation. And he got all the wrath of the Moon for it.

"Wipe that stupid grin off your face!"

Tybalt was pushed back onto his back and into a mud pile. Even though the kids around him laughed, and he was currently being bullied. The smile on his face stayed. He then began to laugh with the others. However, while others laughter was mocking, his was happy. The kids around him stopped their laughter, and got nervous at his behavior. Tybalt continued, ignoring them. They then looked at each other before sneering and walking away from him.

"Freak."

"Can't he just be normal."

When the others finally walked away from him. Tybalt stood up and brushed off some of the mud off of him. The grin still on his face.

Just another Tuesday.

Tybalt, at the young age of eight, was hated. That was because he smiled all the time. Of course, not for reasons that other dark citizens smiled. He just did it because he always felt happy. When he realized growing up that people hated him because of this, well, he didn't take it lightly. He didn't want to stop smiling, it was a part of his personality, so he scorned others in a different way. He even scorned his mother . . .

"Tybalt, the dark knights are back from their journey. We must go and celebrate with the others their return."

Tybalt hummed in response to his mother's request. He was currently in the kitchen and trying to find something to eat.

"Um, I don't feel like it Mom!" he laughed.

"T-Tybalt, you must go with me. You know I can't be wandering around by myself."

"Doesn't sound fun, no."

Tybalt's mother struggled to stand up from her bed. She took the cane she had next to it and held the nightstand to steady her balance. Her legs wobbled a bit before she winced and fell back into the bed. The woman sighed in frustration and held her head in her hands.

She was never a healthy woman. When she gave birth to Tybalt she almost died from the process. After that her health continued to deteriorate. And she doesn't know why, but Tybalt ended up being the opposite of every other child. When he was young Tybalt always smiled. When she tried to stop his actions he merely tilted his head, he wasn't even angry, and asked.

"Why? What's so weird? I'm just always happy."

She didn't do it because she didn't like how her Tybalt was. She was just worried about him. Everyday he was bullied. Everyday he came back dirtied or with bruises. When Tybalt realized why he was treated so differently, he changed. He stopped listening to her, he did everything opposite of what she asked. She asked him to do the dishes, he broke the dishes. She asked him to help her get to her bed, he moved her cane. She asked him to go to the dark knights return celebration, he declined.
