Rickys pov
"Alright babe lets go take my princess home then we can go out for our dinner and movie" I kiss my girlfriends cheek.Sofia and I have been dating for about a month now and I'm really happy. She makes me happy. After her fiancé cheated on her we started hanging out as friends and it just blossomed from there on. We've just reconnected, she's always been a great girl even when we dated in high school for like a year.
I had just told Aviana and she seemed fine with it. I mean by her actions and appearance she seemed content, I just hope that's the case. I want my daughter to feel comfortable around her and I want her to know she can tell me anything she feels towards this new relationship. My kids are always gonna come first though, no matter what!
"Sounds like a plan." She smiles up at me.
"Lets go Aviana. I don't need your mom sending me anymore texts." I shout through the house.
Aviana comes downstairs and groans.
"Can't I just live here?" She pouts making Sofia give her a hug.
Aviana and Sofia have really hit it off. Aviana loves hanging out with her and I'm glad. Also Sofia loves kids. She just adores mine and I honestly am grateful when she helps me out with them. I really give props to my ex who can juggle her life pretty good.
"Baby doll I would love to have you here but it's just you're mom, she would never allow it." I explain stretching my arms out.
My teenager rolls her eyes.
"Who cares what she allows."
I just shake my head. Aviana and Ariana butt heads a lot. The only reason why is because they are so alike personality wise. Honestly though they're not the best of friends and I think it would be best if they got help with their relationship. Aviana's been through a lot these past two years and I'm pretty sure she has a lot of anger towards her mother built up in her heart. I've always lived by the motto forgive and forget because life is too short to hold grudges, but that's not the case for these two.
Ariana still hasn't forgiven me for cheating so why wait on her anymore? I have to show my kids that just because someone doesn't forgive you doesn't mean you have to live miserably for the rest of your life. I forgive and forgave their mother and that's all that matters.
"You do. She's your mom and you obey and respect her." I point out grabbing my car keys and Wilder's bunny from the coffee table. He forgot it here a couple days ago. Hopefully he's not giving Ari a hard time.
"Lets go." I tell the two young women in front of me.
I hear my daughter sigh.
"Please daddy can't I just stay one more night." She wraps her arm around mine and gives me her puppy dog face. Can't let that get to me though.
