"Beep" "beep" I open my eyes in shock, forgetting it's the pounds wake up alarm. I'm now 1 years old and still in this pound from when I was a pup, it hasn't got much better for me but much worse as I over heard the pound man talk about what happens to dogs who's been here for a while and I can tell that's about me, being here a year it's got to be. I need to find a way out of here before they do.
Today's the annual season people come from all round the world to adopt dogs or puppy's as that's what people's are looking for now a days, which sadly for me I'm not that ideal puppy for them so I've got to do something. It starts at 12am so that gives me a few hours for a plan for after the annual adoption if I'm not adopted by the end of it.
"Ding" it's now struck 12 and people are already outside waiting to come in and look, the doors flung open and people rush in looking and searching forever the puppy's and other dogs around the pound, now here's my chance to look as cute as I can and win some people round, I just hope I can find that boy who used to feed me when I was alone and just on the streets but I never understood why he didn't just take me home with him or adopted me, he was the only one who showed me some love and loyalty but that all ended when the pound found me and took me in, but he's probably forgotten about me at this point but anyway all I'm worried about now is getting out of here

The adoptions over and no one even looked at me, I'm done for good now, doomed just like mother abandoning me. I might as well get the rest and food I can now before it's over and say goodbye to everyone, but then all of a sudden all the lights went out and a door flung open which is unusual because the pound doesn't close till later and no one cares to visit us yet, it wasn't none of those reasons it was a shadow, small and skinny well from what I could see, it came close to me and then all of a sudden my door flung open and I heard a voice say "shhh, follow me and be quiet if you wanna survive" I didn't think much of it I wanted to live and get out of here so what choice did I have.
I followed this shadow out past the guard and through the exit doors which at this point I could just run but run where, so I followed this shadow, up some hills and higher up past people's houses and away from the pound until it stopped, stopped by an abandoned bus stop in the middle of nowhere with a badly built extended shelter and a crocked made bed, with a wooden outline and it stuffed with old clothes and anything soft this shadow could find, I stepped in closer to get a better look at this so called shadow to found out it's not just a shadow it's a ...
