The night was clear with not a single cloud in the sky. A slight breeze passed through, rustling through the trees and corn stalks that laid on your boyfriend's farm. You loved it when he made time for you. No matter how tired he was. This whole farm was just his. You lived down the road a few ways. Although, it was like you just lived here on Jack's farm. Jack was just finishing up his shower as you were lying on the bed in his bedroom that you shared with him whenever you stayed over. He walked out of the bathroom with a white towel around his waist and one in his hands, ruffling his blonde hair. Jack walked into the bedroom, smiling as soon as he saw you.
"Have you been waiting all this time?" Jack asked, going to his closet, pulling out a few clothes. You rolled off the bed, making your way to him. You wrapped your arms around his torso, nuzzling your face into his back.
"Yea I have. I also want to do something tonight. So get dressed and meet me on the porch. Ok?" You smiled as he turned around in your arms, dropping his hair towel. He nodded before leaning down, planting a soft kiss on your lips, keeping you close. You smiled, kissing him back, pushing on his chest to make him stop. When you were able to pull away, you let out a small laugh.
"Just get dressed Jackie. We don't have all night." With that, you walked out and to the front porch. Jack chuckled, watching you leave before going back to getting dressed. Once he was done, he met with you outside on the porch. You got up from the chair swing, going over to him.
"(Y/N). What are we doing?" Jack asked, following you off the porch. You grabbed his hand, intertwining your fingers with his. All you did to answer his question was a huge smile. He chuckled and just went along with whatever you had planned. You dragged him to a place that you both use to go to when you were little. There was blanket lying on the ground and a few small pillows. You let go of his hand, running over to it, lying down. Jack walked over slowly, lying beside you.
"So do you like it? I know it isn't much but it was something that came to my mind earlier." You smiled, moving closer. This idea seemed sweet. You just didn't know if Jack thought it was a good idea or not. Just lying there, looking at the stars. Enjoying each other's presence. You had one more thing you wanted to do, but you wanted to save that for later.
"Of course I like it (Y/N). It's perfect." Jack smiled, pulling you closer. "You could have just asked if you wanted a date." He chuckled, kissing the top of your head. A giggle escaped your throat as you snuggled closer to him, nuzzling his chest. Feeling his arms around you made you feel protected and secure. Before you could put your arms around him, he rolled onto his back, pulling you on top of him. Jack quickly kissed you before you got the chance to say something. You didn't hesitate to kiss back, bringing your hands to his hair. Your fingers tangled in his hair as you deepened the kiss. You enjoyed the kiss so much that you forgot about needing air, pulling back, panting slightly.
"Needy much?" You laughed out, breathlessly, staring into his eyes. Jack chuckled, holding you so you weren't able to get up. You whined, pushing on his chest.
"Jack...I came out here with you to watch the stars. Not to make out." You giggled, kissing his nose just as he let go. You slowly rolled off him, but stayed close. He ran his fingers through your hair as you placed your head on his chest. The beat of his heart was so calming to you. You could lay there all night if you two wanted. Although, you didn't want to. You had other plans.
The two of you laid there for little more than an hour, talking about childhood and how you fell in love with Jack. That talk soon ended when you sat up, looking around. Once again, it was something you and Jack did when you were kids. Fireflies. Jack slowly sat up, looking at you.
"Something wrong (Y/N)?" Jack asked, putting his arm around your waist, pulling you closer. You looked up at him with the biggest smile on your face.
"Nope! Come on." You grabbed his hand, pulling him up as you got up. It has been so long since you've done this. Let alone with Jack. Jack ran with you over to where the group of fireflies were. You let go of Jack's hand as you began to jump around, chasing after the fireflies. Jack watched you from a distance. A smile formed on his lips as he ran over to you, running around with you, trying to catch the fireflies. He thought he would never do this again. Jack had to admit, he missed it. Your laugh made him begin to feel like a child again. He let out a few laughs. Running around only lasted a few minutes when you had finally caught one. Jack ran off without you knowing, behind a bush. You tried to catch your breath, staring at your hands.
"Jack! I got one! I got....Jack?" You looked around you, not seeing Jack at all. Fear washed over you. You let the firefly go, walking around the small meadow."Jack...Come on...This isn't funny." You whined out, now standing in one spot, glancing around. Lucky for Jack, you were standing right in front of the bush, facing away. Jack smiled, looking up at you before jumping up and onto you. You screamed, falling onto the ground. Jack made sure that he fell on the ground before you did so you wouldn't get hurt. It took you a few seconds to realize you were lying on Jack, still shaking in fear. You began to cry, soon stopping when you looked at his face. A laugh escaped his throat as he looked at you. You hit his chest.
"Jack! That wasn't funny!" You yelled, the rest of the tears falling onto his shirt. Jack wrapped his arms around you and leaned forwards, planting a few kisses on your cheeks and a final one on your lips.
"I wouldn't let anything happen to you, (Y/N)." Jack smiled up at you. You wiped your tears, staring down at him. You laid your head on his chest.
"That scared me, Jack...I was afraid I lost you." You muttered softly, closing your eyes. You wrapped your arms around him, nuzzling into his chest.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get you that scared. But don't you remember how I use to do that when we were kids?" He moved a hand up to run his fingers through your hair to calm you a little bit. You shook your head.
"That was so long ago..." You looked up at him. "Just promise me you won't do that again." Jack nodded, beginning to get you. You slowly slid off him, not wanting to move.
"How about we head back to the house?" He suggested, picking you up after standing. You nodded, holding onto him. You wrapped your legs around his waist, laying your head on his shoulder.
"I love you, Jack." You yawned, kissing his cheek. He smiled and began to walk back.
"I love you too, (Y/N)."
When you returned to the house, he set you down in the bed, getting in with you. You fell asleep almost instantly, kissing Jack sweetly before doing so. Jack held you close as you fell asleep.
"You are the best thing that happened in my life." Jack muttered quietly, kissing your head before falling asleep himself.
