"Eric... Lucifer?!" I said and his smirk widened on one end of his plump lips.
"You must be here for the table read isn't it, well it's on 9th floor." He said while holding my wrist, his hold was firm just like his mysterious grey eyes which hooked me still.
I scanned him to make sure that it was really Eric Lucifer standing in front of me who was casually informing me something which he isn't suppose to know. He cleared his throat while his brows furrowed, he was definitely enjoying it.
"I'll take the stairs, it's just one floor up." I said, even if it was two or three floors higher I would still have picked stairs rather go into the elevator after this insane ...... acquaintance? Really what should I call this. He instantly retrieved his hand and dabbed on the elevator control buttons, sweeping the door shut without making any eye contact further while I stood there dumbfounded to get a clue of what just happened.
My phone buzzed startling me a little and pulling me back to reality. It was Alvin, my agent. I quickly answered it and rushed towards the staircase.
"Are you running on time?" He asked restlessly.
"Yes I'm running, well going in , will call you back." I said and disconnected it. He was trying so hard for me to get this role even when I gave up hope, he didn't. I'm so grateful to Craig who introduced me to Alvin as my agent.
But right now if I tell him I'm running late I fear how he would react and I really don't want to ruin his efforts and disappoint him.Abruptly I halted in front of the yellow caution board wet sign. A man in his cleaning blue jumpsuit sweeping the floor turned towards me.
"Ma'am, Can you please opt for the elevator." He said while I noticed how thick his moustache is wondering when did I last took care of my facial hair.
I stepped aside while he moped the area where I just stood, sighing I paced my steps towards the elevator again and rather impatiently tapped on the button.
Every second felt painfully long. Finally when the door opened ..... And great. It was already packed with people but I had to fit in, so I did. Making my way through two women who were quite petite and refused to budge clearly showing me their annoyance. Well, to be honest I was more worried about their heels because I'm not in my usual sneakers today to protect my pinky toe, so I prayed silently from getting injured. I should not be surprised by my luck today because instead of going just one floor up we went down. We halted at 7th floor and a tall man in blue suit from behind me made his way out.
