Author's POV

"Are we there yet?" Carlos asked. The gang had been on the boat for a week since leaving Berk and to say they were sea sick would be an understatement. However today they would finally arrive at their next destination. "No we still have an hour." Ben answered. "Where are the girls?" Jay asked.
"Mal's room. Evie wanted to make sure that they all were dressed properly." Doug said. "Figures.I guess we won't be seeing our girlfriends anytime soon." Ben said. "Yeah." Doug confirmed. "Maybe we can finally judge who has the best legs. " Jay said.

In Mal's Room.

"Evie are you sure this is how this thing is supposed to be worn?" Jane asked as she adjusted the knee-length baby blue kimono that had pink bows embroidered on it with short sleeves and and a navy blue sash. As well as a pair of navy blue sandals, and her hair in a high ponytail."Yes Jane. That's how it's worn." Lonnie said knowing where they were going next, and she was excited and hesitant.  Lonnie was wearing a traditional magenta kimono embroidered with gold vines and blue flowers, with a light blue sash with full sleeves. On her feet she wore a pair of light blue sandals and her hair in a tight bun with a baby's breath floral hair pin. "Okay." Jane said as she stopped fidgeting with the garment. Mal looked down at her own kimono. It fell just above her knees and was lavender in color with a dark purple sash, it had capped sleeves and was embroidered with elegant flying dragons in dark purple thread with spirals weaving around them. For shoes Evie had designed a pair of dark purple gladiator sandals. For jewelry Mal wore a gold chain with a dragon wrapped around and amethyst pendant as well as a pair of amethyst earrings. Mal's hair was in a ballerina bun with a few tresses of hair framing her face that Evie had curled. In her hair Mal wore a floral clip of violet and lilac with a dragon sitting in the center.
Evie was wearing a dark blue kimono that fell just above her knees as well with a red sash, short sleeves and was embroidered with red hearts with crowns. On her feet she wore a pair of red flats. Evie kept her hair down but pinned back with a floral rose clip on either side of her head. For jewelry Evie wore a gold choker with a ruby heart and a matching pair of earrings.
All together they looked great. "Hey girls let's take a selfie."Evie suggested. So the girls all huddled together as Evie took out her phone. "Ok everyone smile and say Auradon." Evie instructed. "Auradon!" All the girls said together, as Evie snapped the pic." Great, now let's go meet the boys on deck." Mal said as she and the other girls headed up to the main deck.

"Hey boys." Evie greeted. She noticed that the boys immediately looked at hers and the other girls legs. "Ok so I think Mal has the best legs." Ben said.
"Of course you do she's your girlfriend." Jay said. "Evie's are better." Doug said. "No Jane's are better." Carlos said. "If you saw Lonnie's you wouldn't be saying that." Jay said.
"Is this what you guys do in your spare time? Debate which one of us has the best body parts?" Mal asked with an irritated expression on her face." No." Ben said, as at same Jay said, " Pretty much." "Ugh boys why am I not surprised. "Um hmm"all the girls hummed in agreement. "Hey!" Ben said. No one said anything else because the boat docked. As soon as the group stepped off the boat they were greeted with a cheering crowd. Ben stepped onto a stage that had been set up for their arrival, he pulled Mal and the others with him. "Thank you citizens of Beijing, China. I am honored to be here
with my friends and consort, as well as your Princess, Lonnie. We all look forward to enjoying your hospitality and customs. Thank you." Ben said he hated having to call Mal his consort. He stepped off the stage and lead them to a waiting car. Ben opened the door for Mal who, before getting in kissed his cheek. Once the group climbed in to the car the driver took off towards the palace. Well this explains the kimonos. Mal thought to herself. As the car approached the castle Mal noticed the streets were lined with cherry blossom trees, along with people walking on the sidewalks. Mal saw a group of young women wearing beautiful silk kimonos, carrying parasols, and laughing. Mal also noticed several dress/kimono shops, restaurants and tea houses, along with a botanical garden. Mal hoped that they'd get a chance to visit it during their stay. "So Lonnie, when was the last time you saw your parents?" Evie asked. "About a year they face timed me after graduation but couldn't make it because of trade issues." Lonnie said. "Yeah well at least your mom isn't a lizard." Mal said comfortingly."True, speaking of which whose looking after her?" Lonnie asked. "Oh I left her with Fairy Godmother." Mal replied. "Oh look there's the palace!" Evie exclaimed pointing out the window. Mal looked at where she was pointing and gasped. There was a beautiful red and gold oriental palace. "Wow Lonnie, you grew up here?" Jay asked his girlfriend. "Yeah but it's really not that big a deal." Lonnie said looking uncomfortable. "Are you kidding? This is a big deal!" Carlos said. Jay noticing his girlfriend was getting uncomfortable, turned to Carlos. "Hey Carlos. Knock it off for now okay?" Jay said not unkindly. Carlos nodded his head, and thankfully stopped. The car stopped in front of the palace. Ben stepped out of the car and held out his hand for Mal. Mal took it as he helped her out of the car. Once the gang climbed out of the car they made their way to the doors. They were just about to enter when a tiny red Chinese dragon came out side. "King Ben and company, China welcomes you." The dragon said. "Thanks Mushu, where's mom and dad?" Lonnie asked. "In the throne room. I'll lead you to them." Mushu said. As the red dragon led them through the palace Mal couldn't help but notice the amount of dragons that were included in the decor. "Wow I didn't know that the people in China liked dragons so much." Mal said. "Oh yes dragons are very honored in our culture. You should see the racket the people make whenever they see Mushu and he's only like 2 feet long." Lonnie said. "Hey just because I'm small doesn't mean I'm not the most magnificent dragon ever. I'm sure your friends think so too." Mushu said. "No not really, that would be Mal."Carlos said. "Oh yeah I forgot she could turn into a dragon." Mushu grumbled. "I don't know how you could forget it was all over the news." Mal grumbled back. Finally Mushu stopped in front of a pair of ornate double doors. "Here we are, the throne room." Mushu said ushering them in. "Hi mom, hi dad." Lonnie greeted her parents before they grabbed her and pulled her into their arms. "Oh my beautiful girl, let me look at you." Mulan said stepping back to admire her daughter. "Mom, remember why we're here." Lonnie reminded her. "Oh right. Hello everyone I'm Empress Mulan." Mulan said. "And I'm emperor Chang." Lonnie's father said. "I'm King Ben of Auradon son of former Queen Belle and former King Adam." Ben said bowing to the couple."I'm Mal King Ben's consort and daughter of Maleficent." Mal said curtsying. "I'm Evie daughter of the Evil Queen." Evie said as she curtsied. "I'm Doug son of Dopey of the 7 dwarves." Doug said bowing. "I'm Carlos son of Cruella De Vil." Carlos said as he bowed.I'm Jane daughter of Fairy Godmother." Jane said curtsying."And I am Jay son of Jafar and I'm also Lonnie's boyfriend." Jay said noticing the way Emperor Chang's eyebrows rose. "It is nice to meet you all." Mulan said. "And you as well." Mal said." There is a Welcome Ball tonight starting at 7:00pm to 12:00 am and it's 2:00 now so, I'll show you all to your rooms, if you'll follow me." Mulan said as she led them to their rooms. "So Mal, Evie this will be your room. Jane, yours is right next door and I've put an extra bed in there for you, Lonnie." Mulan said. "Thanks Mom." Lonnie said. "Boys you are right across the hall, so please behave. Ben, Doug you are across from Mal's room. Jay you and Carlos are across from Jane's room." Mulan said. "Thank you Empress Mulan." Ben said. "You're welcome now I'll leave you to get ready for the ball." Mulan said then she turned and walked away. "You heard the lady let's get ready for the ball." Evie said leading the girls to her and Mal's room. "See you later Benny Bear." Mal said as Evie dragged her away.

"Wow these rooms are great!" Jane exclaimed. "Yes, yes, the rooms are beautiful. We can look at them later, right now we need to get ready for the ball it's in 5 hours Evie hissed. "Geez E I don't know why you're in such a rush you've gotten me and you ready in less time." Mal said. "Yes but I'm not just getting you and me ready Mal, I also have to help Lonnie and Jane." Evie said. "Oh ok." Mal said. " Alright ladies let's get this started." Evie said.

The next 4 1/2 hours were a blur of corsets, makeup, and curling irons. But finally all of the girls were dressed, and ready. Jane was wearing a beautiful, floor length, taffeta, periwinkle gown with a wide, ruffled skirt and a sweet heart neckline. There was a pink sash that tied into a bow in the back. Her hair was in baby doll curls with a metal bow hair clip. Her shoes were low pink heels. Jane also wore a pair of bow earrings and a silver chain with a bow pink amethyst pendant .
Lonnie wore a floor length gown that was half kimono half ball gown. It was Magenta with a gold sash and gold hemming. The sleeved were long and full. Her hair was up in a bun with a gold and diamond tiara. On her feet Lonnie wore a pair of gold heeled sandals. She wore a pair of dangling pink amethyst earrings and a matching necklace. Evie wore a deep blue, strapless mermaid gown with red rubies sewn on the waist and sides, with a red silk wrap. On her feet Evie wore a pair of red stilettos. Evie's hair was straightened and down with a ruby heart hair clip. She wore a pair of gold hoop earrings and a gold chain necklace with a ruby heart pendant.
Mal was wearing something she thought was beautiful but wasn't quite sure how comfortable she was in it. Mal wore a cold shoulder mint green silk ball gown with a full skirt with a light purple lace sash. On her feet Mal wore a pair of purple sparkly heels. Mal wore a pair of pearl earrings along with a pearl necklace. Mal's hair was in an intricate updo with braids weaving in and out. In her hair she wore a pearl clip with a gold dragon protecting them. Mal turned and looked at herself in the mirror and all of her doubts washed away. She looked flawless, Evie had really out done herself this time.
"Wow." Mal said. "Wow is right." Lonnie agreed. They were about to say more but a knock on their door interrupted them. Mal opened the door and found all the boys who now seemed tongue tied at the sight of their girlfriends. "Wow. Mal you look gorgeous." Ben said stepping forward to hug his girlfriend. "Uh uh. Ben you'll wrinkle the dress." Evie warned. "Right of course." Ben said stepping back. Mal glared daggers at Evie who either didn't notice or pretended not to. "Let's go then shall we?" Ben asked offering his arm to Mal who gladly took it. "We shall." Mal said as the group headed to the ball room arms linked.
