A few days later, Chanyeol was finally allowed to go home.
Even after weeks had passed, he couldn't believe the awesome prank everyone was pulling on him; Kyungsoo claimed that he was his best friend; he had way too many friends; his parents were still together and, apparently, Baekhyun was his boyfriend.
"Would you ever want a girlfriend?"
"No."
"Why?"
"Too complicated for me." Baekhyun explained. "Maybe when I grow up. You know, have a girlfriend, marry her, bring her joy... There's no point in having a relationship when you're this young. But that doesn't mean I won't do stuff with girls."
"What about you?" Baekhyun asked back a few seconds later.
Chanyeol turned his head to look at Baekhyun. He shook his head. "Nah. Not for me." He laid next to Baekhyun on his truck.
"Oh! A falling star, make a wish!" Baekhyun said. He closed his eyes and put is hands together.
Chanyeol stared at him. I wish for you, he said in his head.
Baekhyun opened his eyes and sighed. He turned his head and looked at Chanyeol in the eyes. "Do you think they ever come true?"
"Huh?" Chanyeol was too flustered to even think. Baekhyun's face was inches away from his - so close he could even feel the other's breath.
"Do wishes ever come true?"
Doubt that. "Maybe."
Chanyeol walked in his house after going out for a run. The familiar fragrance of his house hit him and he immediately headed for the stairs.
"Chanyeol, where are you going?" His mom asked.
"To take a shower." He said and started walking back upstairs.
"Don't forget it's Friday night; we're watching a movie together." His mom said.
Chanyeol didn't answer to his mother.
It had already been a few weeks that Chanyeol had come back home. In those few weeks he'd hung out with Kyungsoo and a couple of other of his so-called friends: Junmyeon and Jongin.
He still could not believe what was going on, but Kyungsoo was not as bad as he had imagined. He was quite amusing; Chanyeol grew to like his personality in these past few weeks.
He was content with his new life. Whatever magic had happened to turn it upside down like this did not matter anymore. He had just accepted the fact that this was his life now, even if it felt a dream.
His parents had not taken a divorce, but instead were happy together and he also had more friends than he could ever imagine.
But one thing was missing from this life.
In these few weeks of his return, he had not seen Baekhyun. Not even once.
The fair haired boy didn't go out much according to his friends who lived closer to Baekhyun's house.
"So, he stays inside all day?" Chanyeol had asked them.
"Your questions are weird. Of course! That's what Baekhyun always does." Jongin answered. "But why do you care? You were not even close back at school? What's the sudden interest about?"
Chanyeol waited a few moments before he gave his reply. "It's just- We got to know each other a little before the holidays and I was curious." He lied.
