Equestria Girls: Book One

Chapter One: Raritys Point of View

I inhaled sharply as I entered the doors of Canterlot High. It was my first year, and if I was correct, I would have a dorm to live in with six other girls. That's nice. Maybe I would get to know them and become friends.

I looked around the hallway, seeing two double doors and pushing through them, I was met with a corridor with a winding staircase, doors on either side. If I remember correctly from reading the acceptation document, each door had seven girls inside. The sweets, as the document said, was a cream coloured door with dried flower handles. The athletes had a bright blue door, the musicals had a white door with music notes, then the posh's had a pearl grey door with gold handles, and there were also the  nerds, adventures, creatives,  bakers,tricksters, and the populars. Then there was the girls dorm that I was going to meet. It was a white frame with a peachy colored door and a rose patterned handle. I headed up the stair case to that exact door, pushing through it to see five girls on their beds.

They all looked up from what they were doing once they heard me open the door. One of them squealed, and I turned to see who it was. I was tackled in a hug before anything else could be said or heard. "Are you the new transfer student?!" She squeaked. After recovering from my hug, I nodded self consciously. This girls skin was tinted pink, and she had strawberry red hair that was curly. She had deep cyan eyes that seems to shimmer in excitement as she held out a hand to help me up.

I shook my head, and stood up. "My names Pinkie Pie, or Pinkie for short! What's yours? Hey! Do you want to be friends?!" I backed away from her slowly, my back was pressed up against the cream coloured door. A orange girl with blonde hair that tumbled down her shoulders came over to Pinkie, putting a gentle hand on Pinkie. "As she told ya, this here is Pinkie pie. I'm Applejack, or AJ for short. Nice to meet ya." She held out her hand, and feeling less frightened, I took it, smiling. "Hi Applejack, Pinkie. My names Rarity."  Pinkie Pie grinned. "Ooh, Rarity! What a pretty name! C'mon! Let's unpack your things and get to know each other!" Pinkie squeaked, pulling away from Applejack and sitting on an empty bed.

"This can be your bed! Hand me your things!" Pinkie pie exclaimed, reaching out for my bag. I handed it to her. "Pinkie, please be careful." I said worriedly, biting my lip. "Don't worry, I will be! Careful is my middle name. 'Pinkie Careful Pie!" She said as she unzipped my white and purple suitcase.
"Wow, you have a lot in here!" She exclaimed as the other three girls watched her. A girl with pale yellow skin and dusty pink hair with baby blue eyes watched Pinkie unpack my things.

"Pinkie," she whispered. "Shouldn't you let her unpack?" Pinkie whirled around to face the quiet girl, smiling. "Of course! But I want to be a good friend and do it for her, Fluttershy." The girl nodded. "Oh." I sat down beside her and smiled. She grabbed a teddy bear and hugged onto it tightly, her dusty pink mane hiding her face. "Hello," I said. She squeaked, hugging the bear even tighter. "My name is Rarity, what's yours?" She looked at me, whispering her name. "Fluttershy." She said, her pink mane covering her face again.

"What a lovely name Darling," I cooed softly at her, pulling her in a hug. "You said your name was Rarity, correct?" I heard a voice across from me say. I turned to look over my shoulder and nodded, observing her hair and features. Her hair was a navy blue, a fringe raised over her forehead, also navy blue. The fringe had one purple and one pink streak each in it. Her navy blue hair had the same two colored streaks the fringe had, and her skin was tinted a light purple, while her eyes were a dark amethyst color. "Okay, my names Twilight Sparkle. Nice to meet you Rarity." I smiled. "Same here Twilight."

"Done!" Pinkie announced, when I turned to look,  everything was neatly folded. "Well done, Pinkie Pie!" Twilight cheered on Pinkie.  Pinkie pie smiled. "Thanks Twi!" I didn't know what to do after that, so I just sat there with Fluttershy. Soon enough, Pinkie brung out her phone and was playing music whilst all of us chewed taffy and bubblegum for an hour.

The bell for dinner rang, and we all paraded down to dinner together.

We had Spaghetti tonight, but I didn't like spaghetti, so I just had a jacket potato instead. Fluttershy nibbled at a carrot, AJ had Apple Pie, Rainbow Dash had Rainbow Cake, and Pinkie nicked everyone else's food. After Dinner, we all headed to our dorm rooms to do our homework. The room was windy, its cool blowing breeze blowing through our open. Balcony window.

I shivered at the cold and just shrugged it off after as Applejack shut the window.

"Better?" A timid voice asked. We all nodded as we continued doing our homework.
