Chapter 1
Ugh. College. I hated it. Well sometimes.
This was my last year. Just a couple more months and I'm out of here. All my hard work finally paid off. In a couple of months I would get my degree and I will be out in the big world doing what I loved most. I studied to be an elementary school teacher. I loved kids. I always told myself I would want to work with kids someday. Now I will be.
I was eating my breakfast and checking my e-mail just as my roommate Nora walked in the kitchen, hair tied back and in her pink pajamas. She poured herself some cereal and sat in front of me.
"Goodmorning sunshine." I smiled at her.
"Morning Cupcake." She answered with a mouthful of cereal.
"Why arent you ready? Are you not going today?" I took a sip of my coffee. Ah shit I burned my tounge.
"Nope. I have an appointment with the doctor so I thought I might as well take the rest of the day off."
"Lucky buscuit. I have to go today. Mr.Roberts has a friend that works for a school district. He said he booked me an interview with him today during his class. Let's just hope all goes well."
"That's good. You can get a job as soon as you graduate. That doesnt happen for many people."
"I know. Mr.Roberts has been helping me a lot." I've always like him. He is one of my favorite teachers. I actually consider him as family. I know it sounds weird seeing your teacher as family but it's true. I'm in a different state, miles away from home. He's the only person who has helped me a bunch since I arrived at this campus.
"You better get going. I hear it's gonna rain today." Nora put her plate on the sink and headed to her room to get changed I assumed.
I grabbed my bag and keys. Nora was right. The sky was filled with dark clouds waiting to let go of the water in them. I quickly made my way to the campus. Just as I arrived I felt a few drops here and there hit my head. I quickly made my way inside the building before the rain started to get heavier.
"Morning Mr. Roberts." I greeted him in his class. A man wearing a grey tuxedo stood next to him. I assumed that was his friend he was telling me about.
"Good morning. I would like you to meet my good friend Dr.Donny. He works for the school district here."
"Nice to meet you Dr.Donny. My name is Diana. Diana Martinez." I shook his hand and gave him a warming smile.
"Nice to meet you Miss.Martinez." He shook my hand and returned the smile I gave him."Why don't we get this interview started?"
"Yes. Of course." He walked off out the door and I followed. I returned to see Mr.Roberts and he gave me a thumbs up and a smile saying you'll do great.
I just want to get this over with. Let's hope I don't ruin my one chance on getting a job as soon as I get my degree.
Well that went well. I made my way back to the small apartment. The rain got calmer as I got out. I quickly made my way inside and threw my heels to the side. I went into my room and changed into some comfortable clothes.
I walked out into the kitchen. I was starving, I did'nt have time to eat lunch. I found some pasta from the day before in a plastic container. I put it in the microwave and waited patiently for the timer to go off.
5,4,3,2..I opened it before the horrible beeping sound went off. I grabbed a fork from the drawer and took a bite. Oh that was delicious.
"Hello there." I heard a voice behind me and it was'nt Nora. It was'nt even a girls voice actually. I turned around to see a man with blonde hair and blue eyes standing there.
