Pfft. Summer seems great. The beach, the pool, the park, staying at home not worrying about school and shit like that. It's all good right? No, well not at least for Liz. She hated summer with a burning passion. The only good part of summer to her was being able to be with her friends. That's all.
Until today, it was perfect. The news that came in, her sister was having a beach party in 3 days . Liz honestly couldn't wrap her mind around it. How could she? She knew how much Lis hated summer. And especially the beach. Fortunately, it was near the boardwalk. So not really on the beach. Still.

5 hours
"Look Hailee, I love you and all, but- why the beach? Just. Why?"
"Lis! C'mon! It'll be fun! You'll meet some new people. It will and is going to be nice and you'll enjoy it I guarantee!!"
Liz sighed, she didn't know what she was getting into but it wasn't good. "Fine, fine but I swear if someone at the beach starts screaming I'm leaving the party and I'm taking whatever I had to offer like food and decor."
Hailee looked so uncomfortable with that idea but went with it. "yes! At least you'll be there! And maybe, who knows you may meet someone special" Hailee winked at her sister. "Ew no why would anyone like me what?" Lis asked.

2 days later
Everyone was arriving at the party quite early. 6pm. But the party started at 8:30, but hey more food so who's complaining? Lis would had to admit. She did a good job on the decor and preparing the food. It looked
Nice? The beach? Please-
As more people started to come to the party she spotted some girl around her age. She looked. Nice. Almost attracted to her. The girl noticed that Lis was staring at her, which was so embarrassing. Lis decided to hide in her towel she brought and pretend to sleep so the girl would eventually go away. But no. She just came closer. "Hey, uh are you okay?" Shit. She probably made a bad first impression to this girl. "Uh yeah I'm fine, thanks for asking! My name is Lis. How about you?" Liz just kindly asked. "Oh? My name is Allison! Thanks for asking, not many people do that at first."
As hours and hours went by, Liz and Allison kept talking and talking. About life, getting to know each other more personally. "Okay so, what's your age? I guess? I don't know" Was the first question Liz asked. "Oh I'm 16 but my birthday's in October, Jesus. You?" She answered. "Oh I'm 16 as well but my birthdays in a week, so I'm getting a year closer to death! Fun!"
It was all fun and games. When Allison ever mentioned something about herself, all Liz could do was nothing except feel, more? In- no.
More attracted to her? Almost love but not quite. And so did, Allison started to like this girl she met at a party; only her older brother really wanted to go to.

Almost love
