Wesley trudged through the hallways, with dark rings around his eyes. He hated that he kept overthinking shit, like Chris, like Base Face, and it was affecting his sleep in the process. He wanted to hate Chris so much, but he couldn't, not when he liked him that much.
And Base Face, maybe it was just Wesley but ever since he walked into his life, it had caused so much drama. But it was hard for Wesley to really blame him, if it was his own sister missing then he would definitely do the exact same thing, make sure he gets to the bottom of it.
"Hey Wes" said Amanda, waving at him. Wesley waved back, half heartedly and continued walking. He didn't want to get caught up in friends right now, what he needed was some alone time, away from any Chris' or Base Faces in his life.
But then he remembered what Base Face had said. That if he didn't help him with finding Mikala then he'll tell everyone about his feelings with Chris. And Wesley didn't want that.
And that why he needed to investigate. He knew that nearly everyone was going to Corinna's party, so that meant he could ask nearly anyone their recount about it.
He could also make more posters, since not many were around. It would give awareness to what had happened and maybe help the case.
Wesley smiled.
Great, he wasn't being Chris' little bitch now was he, Base Face? Wesley walked to the library, saying a quick hi to the librarian before stealing a laptop and finding a table that was isolated from anyone.
He switched it on, tapping the password in and waiting for it to load. He wasn't going to have lunch today, since he didn't have a good enough appetite to do so.
He was probably close, or they hadn't realized he was there, but behind an entire shelf of books, he could easily eavesdrop in a conversation currently going on.
"Look, her brother is looking for her, everyone knows she's not dead"
"And when the police get involved, then they're realize that we have something to do with it."
"Shut up you two, we just need to get rid of it here so no one finds it"
Wesley's eyes widen. He knew that they were talking about Mikala, but what were they hiding? Wesley remained silent throughout, until they finally left the area. Wesley got up from his laptop and went over to the place where the were. It looked a bit distraught, since the books were uneven, as if someone had just rummaged through them and put them back carelessly. Wesley cautiously picked out all the books which were all in an odd placement to see a phone, inside a clear sandwich bag.
Wesley looked around cautiously, before taking the phone and stuffing it in his pocket. He rearranged the books, copying the same way it was put previously so that the people who did put it in wouldn't suspect that someone had been through it.
He needed to show Base Face this phone since Wesley knew that if those people wanted to hide it then it most be important to the case. He went back to his laptop, and switched it off, putting it away. He needed to go find Base Face now.
Wesley walked out of the library, and began searching for a dude with a cute man bun and a lot of ear piercings. He was so busy looking for that good looking boy that he didn't even realize that Chris had just walked past him with a girl. And once he did he pretended to not notice him.
"Fuck my life" he breathed quietly to himself before continuing to look for Base Face. He eventually found him in the cafeteria, listening to music. Wesley went up to him, ignoring Amanda and Chris's table as he walked past.
He sat down beside him, with a small smile. Base Face takes his earphones off and glanced at him.
"What is it?"
"What, I can't hang out with a friend without needing something?" Wesley joked. Base Face glared at him, before putting his earphones back. Wesley watched for a couple of seconds in silence.
"We're not friends." He said bluntly.
"Sure thing. But anyways I was in the library when I heard a couple guys talking about Mikala and how they were somehow involved. They also hid this" Wesley shows the phone discretely. Base Face glanced at it.
"A phone, possibly belonging to your sister" Wesley concluded. Base Face glanced at it, before grinning. It was the first time Wesley had seen him grin, and he could admit that it was cute as fuck.
"You aren't so fucking incompetent after all." Base Face complimented. Wesley shrugged. Base Face took the bag holding the phone and put it into his backpack, then stood up.
"Well then, I'll meet you at your house this evening" he says, before walking away, Wesley watched him as he did so, following behind, before getting stopped by Amanda, calling his name from her table. Wesley curses. Why does she always have to do that? Wesley walked towards their table, ignoring Chris.
"Who's that?" Amanda asked curiously, glancing at Base Face.
"A friend" Wesley answered. Amanda nodded before gesturing for Wesley to sit down as she continued to talk to them about junior prom. Prom was something Wesley didn't want indulge in, since it meant picking a prom date and all of that, and Wesley had no one except thirsty girls to chose from.
He could have chosen Chris as a friend, but now he didn't what they were and Chris now hated Wesley for kissing him while he was drunk so yeah.
Amanda was obviously be too kind to turn down Wesley's request but they'll have to go with her boyfriend and it'll just be awkward.
And Base Face, well Wesley didn't even know him that much, and even if he wasn't that bad of a candidate, Wesley didn't know if he was coming or not. So basically prom was going to be a busy for him. And as he ignored Chris, he hadn't realized that Chris wanted to say an apology all along.
