Six days have passed and I have my final chemistry exam this morning. My exam is at 10 a.m. and I've been awake since 7 a.m. cramming as much material I can. Lorraine wished me luck before she headed out of our dorm for the day. At 9:30 I decide to head over to the science building. My dorm room is relatively close to the science building so I should have extra time to study a little bit more.
Being the nerd that I am , I had my face in my chemistry notes on the whole way to the building too. I was just about to close my notes when suddenly...Wham!
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" A gruff voice was apologizing.
I just started laughing at my clumsiness. "No, no. That was all my fault. This exam has me very scattered brained." I began to explain. I finally made eye contact with this stranger. Oh My Gosh. Why have I never seen you before? The first thing I notice is his jawline. It's perfect. His eyes were sparkling but they were a very dark brown, maybe even black. His buzzed hair cut made him look tough. A chinstrap outlined his perfectly set jawline. This stranger had to be 6'2 at least. He was built like an athlete. I finally realized I was staring and immediately broke eye contact.
"Yeah, finals seem to be stressing everyone out here lately." He chuckled as he helped me back up. He had a very strong grip.
I brushed off my shorts and replied, "Exams are the worst."
"Well, girl I'm so sorry I knocked down, I wish you luck on your exam."
"Thank you. And you can just call me Maisy. Seems simpler and much shorter." I said with a grin.
"Hmm...Maisy. Maybe I'm not sorry I ran into you." He responded with a wink. He than walked away.
Did that really just happen? A cute guy just winked at me and obviously hit on me? I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming...I'm not. I snap out of my thoughts and remember why I'm really here. Get to class and ace this test. Then you can relax a little Maisy.
I speed walk into the class and take my seat. The time is 9:45. I pull all my notes and my book out to utilize the extra time I have. At 9:55 my professor walks into class.
"Okay, students let's get started so we can get this finished." My thoughts exactly teach. "Now I will have the grades emailed to you by tonight. It will be late." He explains.
Great. I'm going to be stressing all day about this grade. At least I'll know before my birthday. The exam has officially began because the official exam is in my hands. Here goes northing...
I walk out of the science building. I think I did fairly well on my exam. I'm still going to stress over my grade but I have confidence in myself.
Wait. I just remembered that incident this morning. What was his name? Oh yeah. He never gave it to me. I've never seen him on campus, the again I never look for people necessarily. I keep to myself a lot actually.
I'll probably never see him again...but I wouldn't mind if I did. I'm glad I was able to push him out of my mind for the test though. He is definitely something that would distract me. I may as well forget about him. I mean, Maisy, come on. What are the chances of that ever happening.
I'm at the entrance to my dorm hall when my friend, Tucker, walks up.
"Hey, Maze!" He greets me with his pearly white smile and a big bear hug.
"Hey, Tuck!"
"How was the chemistry exam? Feel dumb or smart?" He always teases me like this.
I just rolled my eyes. "I feel confident but you know I'm still going to stress over it."
