Prologue
Its like a cycle, never changes. When people look in, they immediately think Ghetto. But that's not the right word nor is it the right way to approach. No the word your looking for is Poor. That's the main problem. They are to quick to judge, when they don't even know the half of the stuff that goes on. If they were in the footsteps that we're in then maybe they won't look down on us. Some people are not aware of the stuff we have to deal with. Mainly because it seems like it is nothing but trouble. That isn't near close. No its simple, don't snitch.
When you snitch, there is no remorse on the person that you snitched on. You chose to do it, so your going to pay for your consequences. It will just be a matter of time before you be on the news saying MISSING. Because it happens everyday. There is not one day that goes by that not a person is supposedly missing or dead. But it's clearly your choice on if you will be either one. No one ever is found even if they do come up missing, because of how unique and smart some of these people really is.
The great thing about living in the hood is you know who and who not to get involve with. And that's quite easy. 'Cause you see there is always that one man and/or woman to not deal in adequate with. In this neighborhood there's only one man who everybody fears including me. And that's Rage. He's exactly what his name sounds like. Rage is also very powerful. The only people that know what he looks like are only his workers. They say you would never know what he looks like even if you walked by him. It's amazing how the streets praise him but have never seen him.
He owns a lot of businesses around towns and they are very national. Rage has restaurant's, car wash's, laundry mat's, gas stations, clubs, realtors, financial companies, car lots, and even has his on pawn shops. He gets around a lot and never gets even questioned by the law. But one thing I do respect about him is that he doesn't have ho's. Well that's by what I have seen and heard. You don't see the ho's flaunting that they have slept with him. I don't know but I do have pretty good guesses. Number 1, he threatened and told them not to or Number 2, they were just to scared. Either way it wouldn't matter to them as long as they got them some great d*ck,
And of course they fall into their category, a hoe. Ready for d*ck when and wherever. Even if they do catch a disease. They wouldn't care because they would just pass it along with what ever and who ever nigga they could get in reach of. It doesn't matter if the nigga has a woman or not. They will take them use them for whatever need that they think the man could or possibly should fulfill and give them right back. And of course that's why you find a lot of ho's weave all over the street along with the men and some trashed clothing with them. And that's every other day.
Then you have the owner of the ho's and that's the pimps. You don't see them to often and if you did you would spot them instantly. Simply because of their walk. talk, and the way they are dressed. Always has a slight limp in their walk and is always slightly leaning. But you could never miss the different women on his arm every time. But I guess the women don't have a problem. Which is kind of ashamed and embarrassing to be sharing a man and not no where his lips nor d*ck has been and I wouldn't want to neither.
Next you have all of your thugs. Of course Rage is the ruler of them all but it doesn't matter. As long as the nigga has money in his pockets than that's enough to draw any whore's attention. Their the ones that you normally see nowhere else but by Greg's Market. And that's every Friday and Saturday. I guess they think they should be a little more respectful so they don't sell on Sunday's... anywhere. Every corner is empty and all the crack head's come out and looks all around for them. I think it's very awful how they just up and disappear.
Also you got your crack heads. Everyday asks for money and sometimes gets it and sometimes don't but at the end when you live in the hood they don't seem to get any better. It's very heart breaking to see them so weak and unstable. But they chose that life and now I can't do anything except sit here and watch because I'm not going to give them even 5 dollars for a needle, bottle of pills, bagged drugs, or white powder. I'm not about to be a suspect of someone's life because I chose to give them some money to overdose on. That just won't be on the conscious of this here body.
And finally you have the people who want to get of the hood. It's very tough but some people have and some people haven't it just depends on how hard you try. There's nothing more to see than having your own visual sight of a well grown up hood human being making it out of this place some call home.
But you see I'm not like that neither do I don't want to get out of this place. You just have to realize that when it all boils down you can't forget where you came from. and you shouldn't want to. Because it shows why you are in the position you are in whether it's a good when or either a bad one. Never ever leave your memories behind because you might accidentally forget something that is or was important and that was apart of what you wanted to get rid of.
And this all leads to me, Na'moni (Na-mon-ey) Hanes. As some people would be caught by surprised by my last name. Simply because my father was kingpin for almost the entire world. He stepped down from his throne 7 years ago because he'd been doing it since he was 10. And now he is 34 and lives in the suburbs. My mother supposedly up and left my father because he wouldn't leave his job to be in love with her. Obviously she left and my father had to raise me by himself. Until he found himself another woman who I thought was absolutely fit for my father. She loved/loves me and I loved/loves her because she stepped in and took over the place that should've been held captive, but instead it had to replaced along with the role of a mother. She taught me everything about what a woman should and shouldn't do, which was surprisingly very easy.
Respect is the number 1 word on what a woman should and shouldn't do. Never let no man conduct and take advantage of your life because if they do then it will just be a matter of time before everybody will. Then it's complete chaos. Your clothing plays a role in it to. It's alright to show off a little skin as I was taught but to show of to much was just plain ridiculous. Even if you did plan on showing some of your body, make it look presentable. And it's very rare that you would possibly see a woman/girl covering up something bare.
But you see they don't care because they say its the way that it is. But I think it's the way the hood should go and be. That's not at all what it's 'bout. And you see this is why people from the outside is so quick to just look and find distaste to us. If that's what our hood people think is decent than so be it.
There's really no other way to explain it. So how about you just read and see the outlook of how it works in this urban area we call home.
