It's "Meet the Teacher Day" and it came way too fast.

Ive gotten used to sleeping in, and when i woke up at 8:00 AM, it felt like hell.

"____!" (your name), yells my mother, "We're gonna be late for Meet the Teacher Day!". "Coming mom!" I yell back. I put on a full face of makeup, put on a cute outfit and go downstairs.

"Do you want breakfast before or after?" my mom asks. "I'll just have it afterwards, I'm not very hungry right now." "Okay, so are you ready to go? Do you have all of your school supplies to put in your locker?" "Ya I think so." "Great! Hop in the car I'll be there in a minute, I need to fill up my water bottle." "Okay."

I hop in the car and put my heavy backpack on the floor of the car beneath my feet.

I pull out my phone and i have 4 Snapchat notifications from my friends. 'Are you going to Meet the Teacher today?' and 'It's so early I'm going to die I'm so tired'. I respond to all four snaps by saying 'Ya, why does it have to start to early tho??'. I click send.

The door opens and my mom sits down in the drivers seat. She starts the car and we're on our way to the school.

"Are you excited?" My mom asks sarcastically. "Oh, so excited. I'm dying to spend hours on my homework and see people I hate." I respond. "Alright, alright..." she trails off.

The rest of the car ride is pretty silent until we get to the school entrance.

"Now I have to figure out where to park, this place is packed!" My mom says. When she finally finds a parking spot, my mom stops the car and i get out of the car with my backpack.

I walk into the school and i don't see anyone I'm really friends with. I start to panic and I'm plagued by anxiety. I immediately pull out my phone and open Snapchat. 'When are you guys going to get here?? I'm all alone and everyone's looking at me.' I send it to out friend group chat.

'Ding' I open my phone and it's a snap from my friend ____. 'Just parked be there in a sec.' Thank god. I see ____ walking up and I run to meet her.

"Thank god you got here I was freaking out. I hate being alone." I say to ____. "You were alone for like 2 minutes chill." She laughs. "Do you know where your locker is yet?" She asks. "Not yet" I reply, "but I hope we're all close together." "Me too, but it probably won't happen." "I know." I say.

We walk to the list of locker numbers and find the number that corresponds to our name. "Mine's 199." I say. "Mine's 256." ____ responds. "Great. We aren't even close to each other." "Of course not." She says.

I put my things in my locker and someone catches my eye. They go into a classroom before I can take a good look at them.

I disregard what i saw and head back down the hallway.

"All done?" My mom asks. "Yep. I can't believe summers over and school starts tomorrow though." I respond. "I can." My mom says jokingly. 'Not funny' i think to myself.

When i get home, i finish my breakfast and go upstairs to brush my teeth.

Then i remember that guy that i saw. I hadn't ever seen him before. Maybe he was a new student or some classmate's older brother who was forced to bring his younger sibling there.

Either way, it kept me up that night which was unusual. That never really happens, so he must've been someone significant.

I fall asleep with your last thoughts being 'Maybe he'll be a student' and 'Maybe he'll be in my classes'.

I slowly sink into sleep.
