Once there was a little boy who lived in a boat. He wasn't lonely though, he had a friend who was a tree. Every day the tree would talk with him. Sometimes the tree felt distant and wouldn't talk as much. Other days the tree would talk a lot. The tree told many stories of another world. A world where it wasn't just the tree and the boy.

Every night the boy would dream of then other world, he wondered if that was where his treasures came from. His treasures were little copper circles of metal. One side had a face and the other side had words. IN the other world they were called coins, but the boy didn't know that.

One day the boy asked the tree if he could see the other world. He wanted to see the birds and people. He wanted to see the animals and the forest where there was more than one tree. The tree was hesitant to tell the boy how to get to the other world, but he final old him how to get there.

First, he had to climb up the tree, all the way to the top. There he would see a house and a well. He had to go down the well and it would lead to the other world. The boy climbed to the top of the tree and went to the well. As he swam down it, his legs became a tail. At the bottom of the well was an opening. The opening led to the surface of a lake.

There was a girl by the lake holding an animal with long ears and gray-brown fur. Birds were in the trees of the forest making noise. He called to the girl and she looked up. She looked around to see who was calling her. She noticed the boy in the water and walked over to the edge of the lake.
