Kevin took it well, he hugged Taylor and wished her good luck on life. Taylor had packed all her bags and got a pen and paper. Writing to Sam, stating she loved him but knew he no longer loved her. Before she walked back downstairs, hugged Castiel one more time and walked out the doors. Taking a car from the garage, and then it was over.
Castiel, and Kevin were alone. He sat there the rest of the day, just thinking. Sam would probably go into a depression, and then Dean would be upset. The thought of Dean trying to help Sam get over this, made Castiel smile.
Dean was always a good big brother, he'd make a excellent father, Castiel thought. The sun came to a close, and Kevin went to sleep. Castiel eventually stood up, and cleaned the kitchen, then the dinning room, and library. Everything felt dirty, it all felt like Taylor. He started to spray everything, rubbing it raw, until he thought Taylor was out of it. After the first day without Dean, Sam or Taylor, the bunker was deadly silent. A few words were exchanged between Castiel and Kevin.
Not much though, most of the time Castiel cleaned. Other times he tried to help Kevin translate the tablet, what he's gotten so far was just gunk about God and nothing about Falling Angels. Sam, and Dean arrived two days later. At first Sam didn't think she'd actually left, until he ran to his room, and found the letter. After that, Sam didn't come out of his room for about four days, and Dean would bring him food. He'd denied it, Dean tried, and nothing worked. "I don't know what to do." Dean whispered, one night when him, and Castiel were cuddled up in his room.
"There's nothing anyone can do." Castiel told him. "He needs to heal."
"But it's been four days." Dean said. "I'm worried."
"About what?" Castiel asked him.
"That he might be hurting himself in there. He scares me." Dean whispered. "I just wish, Taylor, and him would've fought harder, you know."
"Me too." Castiel said. "I guess sometimes when it's meant to be you've to fight or leave." he said.
"Is that why we fought?" Dean asked him, looking up at Castiel's deep blue eyes.
"That is, I think it's because we both knew that it was meant to be." he told Dean, who kissed Castiel's lips.
"You are such a romantic." Dean whispered.
"And you love it." Castiel smiled.
"I do." Dean smiled.
The sun rose up the next morning, Castiel was awake first, and walked out of the room to take a shower. The hot water cleaning him up, he wiped himself down, and started downstairs. He made breakfast, and woke Dean, and Kevin up. Dean walked to Sam's room, "Hey, Sammy you in there?" he asked, not bothering to knock, or force the door open.
"I'm sleeping. Leave me alone." Sam grumbled, Dean sighed, and walked away. He walked downstairs where he spotted Kevin sitting at the table, his black hair sticking up madly, and his eyes were droopy.
"Didn't sleep well last night huh?" Dean teased him. Kevin rolled his eyes, before making a snort noise.
"Something like that." Kevin mumbled.
"What does that mean?" Dean asked.
"Well, I had a nightmare." Kevin said.
"My whole life has been a nightmare." Dean said back.
"Well, Metatron visited me last night in my dream." Kevin told him. Dean sat across from him, and Kevin explained further. Stating that Metatron spoke to him, he spoke about how he was opening up Heaven, and that he wanted them on his side. Dean rolled his eyes at that, Kevin also said that he mentioned becoming the new God.
"Well, Cas already tried that." Dean snickered. Kevin starred at Dean for a moment, wondering what he was talking about. "I'll explain later." he said, standing up, and walking towards the kitchen. He got himself a beer, popping open the top, and taking a sip. The liquid hitting his throat, his thumb messing with his ring. Which made him remember he owes Castiel a new ring, he set his beer down, and grabbed his leather jacket. "I'm going out," Dean told Kevin, who waved bye, and Dean ran out to his impala.
He hopped inside, and drove to the nearest diamond store. Dean was excited, to get Castiel something he'd like.
Castiel woke up, alone. He shook his head, and got out of bed. His dark hair falling in his eyes, he's going to have to cut his hair soon. Castiel walked to the bathroom, and did his business. He walked passed Sam's room, and gently knocked on the door. No answer. "Sam?" he whispered at the door.
"What?" he heard his deep voice ask, Castiel's hand grabbed the door knob, and gently pushed it open. Sam was sitting up on his bed, starring at the floor. The room was plain, nothing special. Sam looked up at Castiel, he looked terrible. Black rings under his eyes, his hair was greasy, and he looked dirty.
"Good morning." Castiel smiled, Sam scoffed, and looked at the ground again. "How are you?" he asked him.
"No." Sam said, standing up. "I'm not going to discuss my feelings. Because I'm a dude." Sam snapped, he stopped, and saw how sad Castiel was. "I'm sorry, that was harsh." he admitted. Castiel's face softened. "It's just, I can't believe she is gone." he whispered. Castiel neared him, and hugged him. Sam started to cry, Castiel thought that was strange, he's never seen Sam cry. He's seen Dean cry, lots of times.
Never Sam. "It's alright. Let it out." Castiel whispered to him.
"She told me in her note, that she didn't think I loved her anymore." Sam sobbed. "I loved her with everything, it was like you, and Dean." he sobbed, Castiel held him, and felt himself crying.
"I'm so sorry Sam." Castiel told him.
"And I'm sorry about what Dean had done to you." Sam said. "I knew something was happening." he said. "If I would've told Dean sooner, you two wouldn't have went though what you went though." Castiel smiled, and they pulled apart.
"Well, I say were doing good now." Castiel smiled, flashing off the ring. Sam smiled, and looked at the ring. Before he shook his head, laughing. "What?" he asked him.
"I was going to ask her to marry me, you know?" Sam laughed. "But I knew Dean would live, I knew he'd end up with someone, and I'd be the one who ended up dying." he smiled.
"What?" Castiel asked, Sam walked passed him. Castiel ran after him. "What do you mean, Sam?" he asked.
"I mean, Dean has someone, and there is a light at the end of his tunnel. There is nothing at the end of my tunnel. Taylor left me." Sam shouted. "She left me!" the realization hitting him hard again, he fell to the ground, and curled up into a ball. Castiel neared him, and rubbed his back. His sobs became dry, and his throat began sounding like sandpaper. "I love her." he whispered.
