The Best Nightmare

I look down at what I'm holding in my hands. This can't be true. There has to be some kind of mistake. But the proof is in my hands.
What have I done?

" VERONICA" I can hear Lilli Beth, one of my best friends, yelling. "GET YOUR LAZY SELF DOWN HERE." I groan and go back to sleep. About 10 minutes later I jolt awake because a certain someone dumped ice water on me. "WHAT THE HECK LILLI?" I scream, ticked off. "Jay is waiting for us. We are about to go on a 3 month break from school. You can survive one more day." I get up and since it's cold I put on a big sweater and a pair of leggings whit my Converse. I throw my hair up into a cute messy bun. I really don't feel like wearing my contacts so I put on my glasses. This'll have to do for today. "It is so not fair that you don't have to wear makeup and nice clothes to look stunning." I look at her, stunned. "What are you talking about? I'm hideous." It was her turn to look stunned. "You are absolutely stunning, Roni." I rolled my eyes. I had long wavy blond hair and bright green eyes. The only thing about myself that I liked was my amazing set of curves. Everyone always tells me I'm beautiful but I have a hard time believing them. I was always called ugly is elementary school. But I leaned to ignore it. "Is Jay ready?" I ask changing the topic. "Yes. He is waiting in the car." Lilli Jay and I had been best friends for as long as I could remember. Our parents were all best friends when they were younger too. We all used to live in a small town in Texas. The 3 of us all moved to New York to go to a school for 6th through 12th who want to study fashion and design. Our families still live in Texas so we don't get to see them much. The last time we say them was the summer before we went it to 9th grade. We started 12th grade 4 months ago. I was never close with my parents but I had a twin brother. I missed he more than anyone. Thankfully we are about to go on our 3 month Christmas vacation. For the first time we are going home. We are leaving right after school. When we get to the car Jay is ticked off. "What. Took. Y'all. So. Long.?" Lillie and I both looked at each other and she gestured for me to talk. "Well. You see. I kinda didn't want to wake up. And lilli had to pour water on me." He looks mad but then he just rolls his eyes and starts to drive.
We barely make it to school on time. The 3 of us a very lucky. We have to exact same schedule. Math English Science And Social Studies before lunch and then all of our design classes after lunch. We all head to our first class. The first half of the day drags by. When the bell finally rings for lunch I practically run to the cafeteria. God. I love food. After lunch the rest of the day flies by. I'm almost finished making a very beautiful gown. It's a strapless black dress with a sheer purple fabric over it from the waist down. On the top part I have hand done a beautiful purple embroidery. It's beautiful. When the dismissal bell rings the students all out out of the classroom. I can hear my teacher yell after us "Have a nice break." And before I know it we are getting off of the plane. It has been 3 hours since we left. I rad practically jumping up and down so excited to see Matt, my brother. When I finally see the blond head of hair so much like mine I start running. He doesn't see me as I jump onto his back. He seems startled at first but relaxes when he realizes it's me. He swings me of of his back and pulls me into a tight hug. "Mattie" I call him my old nickname for him. "Hey V." I can feel sobs shaking his whole body which makes me start to cry too. When we finally calm down we don't stop hugging. That is until someone clears his throat. I look up and I see Matt's best friend Will. I pull away from Matt and throw my arms around him too. He has been like a brother too me. He lived with us after his parents died. "I missed you little V." He called me V like Matt but since he was a year older he added little into the nickname. "Well" I say "I did not miss that stupid nickname." That sends him and my brother into a fit of laugher I see my friends looking around for me. They are carrying my stuff that I dropped when I saw Mattie. They saw us and smiled. They used to spend all of their time at our house before they moved so they are pretty close with Matt and Will. Matt and Will looked at each other then at us. I was Will who said "Look at y'all. All grown up." We just stood there looking at each other. For the first time in forever I have all the people I love with me.
