New chapter 12:
My hands instinctively reached towards my head, my eyes closed as the pounding remained.
Ba bump.
Ba bump.
Ba bump.
I went to cuddle my legs to my head, only to realize I was standing, and as my eyes started to squint open, I saw grass. Dying grass, an open field, and the clothing I wore on that day.
'What a fucking nightmare, to have to deal with this while my head is already killing me.' I thought.
"The fish aren't biting today." A too-familiar voice sounded close by. Last time, I tried to ignore it, yet here we were again.
"No crap, you didn't put any worms at the end of your rod, so why would the go for the shiny object, huh? Why am I even trying, it isn't like you will listen to me, now will you? You're dead, dad. You. Are. Dead. What? Was I not a filial son? Was I not good enough so you have to haunt me? You're dead! Dead! DEAD!" I ended up screaming, which only seemed to go in tune with the pounding-now seemingly screeching in my head.
No response came back, which is to be expected. With my eyes fully open now, yet my left hand still holding on to my head, I moved my leg forward, willing myself to walk towards that voice. I got the same response, the expected response, which was my leg being forced back, not allowing me forward.
"It's not time yet, Ethan." A soothing voice came back, yet to me all it sounded like was emptiness and sorrow.
"It isn't time yet? When will it be time? I watched you leave, so when will it be time!? I want answers!!!" My body was shaking, uncontrollably!
I want to know!
I want to know!
I want to know!
I want to know!
I want to know!
I want to -!
"ETHAN! WAKE UP!" A gentle yet somewhat angry voice was calling to me. I tried to lift my head, but it seemed like a warm weight pressed over it. Two small hands started to push me back down, and as I went to lift that weight from off my eyes that pounding came back with what had to be one of the most unexpected remarks ever...
"Thank god! We thought you had already died like the others!" A young female's voice came from the right of me.
