The small coastal town of morská strana wasn't exactly the nicest place to live. With tropical storms terrorizing the town at least once a month, its hard to find food and shelter.
Thats why, as the storm rages on outside, the forty seven citizens of the town are huddled up in the local church.
During these storms, the citizens keep occupied by telling stories. Now seeing that these storms happen so often, people run out of stories and waiting out storms become very boring.
This storm wait out, every one anticipated, would be very boring. That is, everyone thought that until they realized there was a new face among these people.
He was oddly dressed; he wore a long black coat with rips in it, as well as a bandana and a large hat over it. He had scars all over his body, and long dreadlocks.
He sat by himself at a table in the corner. He heard the people talk amongst themselves about the new-comer. From what he heard, most of their predictions were correct.
He was, in fact, a pirate.
Some of the people seemed scared, while others seemed excited. A boy, no older than seven, approached the man slowly. “Are you really a pirate?” the boy asked “What would make ye’ think that, boy?” "Well, the others said you were a pirate.” “Indeed, those soft landlubbers ove’ there would say such things now, wouldn’ they?” the boy looked at the man happily “so you are a pirate!” he exclaimed.
“Will you please tell me a story? I heard that pirates do tell the best stories” the pirate thought for a moment “indeed, we pirates do ‘ave a few tales of our adventures t’ tell. I reckon that no one else ‘ere could tell ye’ ‘bout findin’ themselves a mermaid.” the boy looked at the man, his eyes wide, waiting for the story to be told.
