I woke up and sat on my bed, thinking hard. I had not heard of this 'Golden Eye', but one thing was clear, that it was a 'Piece of Eden'.

Another battle will happen over it's possession, and this time, in this time in the 21st century, how will they do it? And how did they find out that a Piece of Eden was still undiscovered, when the Assassins made sure that it remains undiscovered?

My thoughts were interrupted when Mom entered the room. She was still in her work clothes and she had a bag hanged on her shoulder. Means she had just arrived from her work.

"Hey Sam, why are you not ready yet? The ceremonies will start soon, and we are all getting ready in 30 minutes." She left the room.

I got up and started getting dressed.Since today was the day when the Assassin brotherhood was founded, everyone wears traditional Assassin robes. Mine were completely black. It was my grandfather's armour. It had  black below knee length overcoat over white shirt. The shirt had a velvet coloured collar. The hidden blades were worn on top of the sleeves instead of the bottom, because no need for discretion among your own. And the complete the look, black trousers with dark brown leather greaves. And of course the hood.

I looked myself in the mirror. I saw a boy of average height, with short black hair spiked up, brown eyes and a round face, wearing heavy assassin robes. I must say, not to shabby.

I stepped out of my room. Dad was already ready in his traditional robes and he was watching TV, waiting for my brother and mom to get dressed. They always take time in getting dressed for every event. Dad wore a white overcoat over brown trousers.

"Hey dad. I'm leaving okay? You come with the others."

"Sure, but why leave early?"

"I'm going with Gwen and Max, they are on their way too." Gwen and Max are my best friends. We mostly go on same missions and we also live very close by.

"Okay, we'll see you there, just keep your earpiece on." dad said.

I checked my wrist computer. The left hand vambrace has a small retractable computer that helps us in field. I switched on my earpiece, took it out of my pocket and placed it in my ear. The earpiece is big enough to fit in the outer ear canal, but so small that in is almost invisible. The girls have an advantage as the earpiece is blended into the earring.

I was about to leave when there was a knock at the door. I opened the door and saw Max standing outside. Behind him was Gwen.

Max wore dark brown leather robes, with a light brown cape and hood. He also had a knife holder and a Assassin logo buckle on his belt, completed with dark red trousers. Gwen wore dark grey robes with a black cape hanging over one shoulder, and dark grey trousers.

"What took you so long?" Max asked? "We waited for your call, but you never did, so we came over."

"As if you live very far." I replied.

"Still, Sam." Gwen said. "Okay, forget all about this, let's go to the Courthouse now, and on the way, you can tell us about your mission."

So we all left my apartment headed for the courthouse. On the way, I told how we met Irons in the cafe, how we took down his bodyguards and how Jack got smashed in the head with a beer glass.

Gwen gasped when I told her about Jack, "How's he now? I hope he's ok."

"He alive, thank god. But he was in a bad shape, and he fainted when we reached here. I'm really sorry that he can't make in the event. I've heard that this year the event will be the best one ever."

"Yeah I heard that too." Max said. " You know that food will be great as usual, but also I have heard that the council are gonna demonstrate the power of a Piece of Eden."

"That's impossible." I said.

"But I also heard that Sam." Gwen said. "This year, the council are gonna do something big."

"Well, I would only hope." I said.

Soon, we had reached the Courtyard.  It was a very large hall, with very high ceiling, with arcs that ended in columnar pillars. It was filled with Assassins in traditional robes. Everyone was laughing and having fun, because today, no one feared for their lives.

Suddenly, all my senses got activated. I felt a tingling in my brain, and suddenly Eagle Vision came in, but it was different. I could hear a pulsing sound that was so high pitched that I got a headache. Then I looked up, and I saw the purple washed world, but withe strips that originated from the roof and spread out at regular intervals. I almost fell over from and overwhelming headache.

"Sam, you okay." Gwen's voice echoed a thousand times in my brain. But the question helped me clear my senses and finally, Eagle Vision cleared and my headache stopped.

"Yeah, I'm good." Though I was not. That thing that just had happened to me was a danger signal. This helped assassins to find out if any danger is lurking in the dark. I still have to learn how to hone it though.

But why today, on such an occasion? Why today? What could happen?

"C'mon now!" Max said. "Today gonna be fun!" He said as he ran away.

"Oh, so you're gonna leave me?" Gwen said, then turned towards me. "Try to have fun today." Then she ran away too.

"Just hope to Gwen, I just hope to."
