I always used to want a different life, to have more friends, to look pretty, to have my family together. But I never knew that life can be so much worse if you are too doubtful and ungrateful for what you have. My advice would be to be careful what you wish for.

.

"Lauren, are you up yet?" George shouted through her door, knocking heavily.

Groaning tiredly, I turned over onto my side, "My alarm hasn't even gone off yet..." I grumbled, shoving my head under the pillow.

"You've got ten minutes!" George yelled.

"WHAT!?" I exclaimed, shooting out of bed and my room.

I knocked on the bathroom door rapidly, nervousness and annoyance building up in my stomach.

"Do you mind?" said George, glaring as he got ready to brush his teeth.

"Gorge, get out of the bathroom, i'm late" i said to him in a rush

"Uh, so, what does that have to do with me? It's your fault" said Gorge.

"ugh, I accidentally set my alarm to 7:30 pm instead of 7:30 am again" I explained.

"Really, isn't that like, the forth time you've done that? I'm surprised you haven't learned." Said Gorge, shocked with surprise.

"Gorge, please, I've been late every day this week, I can't afford to be late again" I explained.

"Why, you're always late, you might as well keep it consistent" Explained Gorge.

"UGH!" I groaned, as I walked off"

"Gee, someones stressed" Gorge whispered to himself.

I went ahead and got dressed as quick as i could.

"I guess i'm going to have to skip on make up today" I said to myself, "let's just hope I haven't forgotten to write that speech today."

My names Lauren, i'm 16 and I have an average, basic life. I'm not even going to try to be cliche with my life, apart from the fact that my parents divorced, my Mom left and I live in old, grossly wall papered house with my dad and my older brother Gorge. I'm not rich, popular or pretty, but my life is manageable. Although if someone asked me to swap places just to get a perfect life, I would accept strait away, I mean who wouldn't?

"Good morning Lauren,  late again?" Asked Dad.

"Ugh, it wasn't my fault, it was that stupid clock again, i mean, i thought i set it to am, but it was pm, it's just so confusing to use, not surprised considering the fact that it's like 20 years old" I said annoyed.

"Look, I promise once a bonus on my job comes in, i'll be able to buy everything you need" Explained Dad.

" *sigh* I know, but do you even have some spare cash to buy a proper mirror? I mean, i have to put everything on using a hand held one" I said.

"I think we might have one in the attic, I remember seeing one last time i went there." Dad said, unsure of himself.

I went over to the cupboard to get the cereal, I shook it to see if there was anything left.

"Is this empty?" I asked.

"oh yeah, i'm sorry, i had the last of the cereal" explained Gorge, as he munched on his breakfast.

"great, so I guess I have to buy something on the way to school, AGAIN!!!" I Exclaimed angrily.

"well maybe you should go to bed earlier, and wake up earlier?"Gorge Suggested annoyingly.

"Wow, great advice" I said sarcastically.

"Lauren, I promise that i'll try to get you a mirror, but things have been really difficult recently" Explained Dad.

"Thanks Dad" I sighed, as I started to walk off.

"Oh Lauren?" Said Gorge.

"YES!!?" I said annoyed.

"Bathrooms free" said Gorge, trying to annoy Me.

"I Hate you" I said as I walked off.

"I hate you too" Gorge called out behind me.
