Graduation Day

Da'Monica's POV----------------------------------------------------------------------------->

Today is the day that I graduate.I worked so hard to get this far and I got the scars to prove it.From August 14th to May 18th.It is like my life was turned around.At first,I had no one to love and care for me.Now,I have my dad back,my boyfriend,made friends,and about to graduate.So what if I had a bad past?That just means that I learned from it and took all my knowledge through growth.

My friends...are acting weird though.They are literally jumping through their robes.Except Jasmine...she shook through her robe.And I had just realized that Huey isn't here,but he said that he was speaking with my dad.

He had been doing that during all of May.Talking to Dad in person and on the phone. Huey...don't tell me that you decided to nuke the school.I understand,some schools suck.But please don't.

"What are you all shaking and jumping up about?We are about to graduate,for crying out loud!We get to get out of this school.You should be smiling!"I yelled as I shown my smile.

"Oh,we're not worried about that shit,"Riley mumbled.

"Just one question,though."

I nodded and waited for his question.

"You do know that my brother does the most craziest shit,right?"

"Yep."

"And that it goes from bringing numchucks to school...to slicing people with a katana."

"And I am no different."

"Look,nigga.All I'm saying is that if you want something and he knows,just be ready to expect the unexpected all the fucking time,nigga.Cause he loves you to death.If he feels a single ounce of negativity in your body,he goes beyond the bar just to make you happy.Just don't hurt my brother,or I will come at ya blazing,bitch.Got it?"

I looked at the clouds hoping that it's not raining.Did he just...threatened me to not hurt Huey?Turns out Riley is one big softie.

"Aw...you're so cute when your protective of your older brother,"I pouted petting his head.

He slapped my hand away and said,"Don't call me that,bitch.That's fucking gay."

I laughed.I took a seat next to Huey.He gave me a quick smile and turned emotionless.I giggled at how the hat keeps falling off his head.I helped him and he thanked me.

"So,what we're you and Riley talking about?"Huey questioned.

"He told me how you would do crazy things to make me happy,and if I hurt you in anyway,then he will come at me blazing.Your brother is very cute when he gets that way."

"Yeah.That just shows that he trusts you,but he sounded like he almost ruined it."

"Ruined what?"I asked suspicious of his words.

"...His image?"

I turned to the stage,and started watching him from the side of my eye.Just what the hell is going on?Everyone is acting weird.On the side,I can see Dad with the rest of the parents.He was smirking.

Yeah,no seriously.What the hell is happening?

I had already went and now it is Huey's turn.When he got his medal and diploma.Just when I thought the ceremony was over,Huey started to speak.

"I want to thank my friends,brother,and my girlfriend for sticking with me through the hardships.But mostly,Da'Monica.She helped me realize that just because someone broke my heart,doesn't mean I shut out love completely.With that,she became an important person in my life."

Oh no.Tears,stay with me.Get back in my eye!

"Many people asked me why I would want to be her,so I replied with another question:Who wouldn't?She works hard,does anything to protect the ones she cares about,good or bad.Has so many talents,that sparkle in her eyes that are filled with determination to get something she wants or get her point across.I love everything about her.So..can you come up here,Da'Monica?"

My eyes widened,and I scrambled to get up.I made it up the stage.I know I keep asking this,but what is happening here?

I stood a few feet from Huey as he grabbed something behind him.It is a small,velvet box.I was questioning why the box.

"Da'Monica Winston,I love you to death,and I wish to love you forever."

He got on one knee.My body went rigid.My eyes had tears come out.I can't believe this.He has guts,doesn't he?

"Will you marry me?"Huey finally asked as he opened the box.

In it is a diamond ring that probably worth thousands.I looked at Huey crying.Are you happy now?You had put me into tears.

"Well,aren't you supposed to call me Da'Monica Freeman?"I hiccupped.

Huey tilted his head at me.Then realization planted itself on his face.

"How am I supposed to take that?"Huey smirked.

This bastardo...

"But ain't that...nevermind.Yes,Huey Freeman.I will marry you!"

With that,I ran to him,and he had put the ring on my finger.I hugged him around his neck and pulled him down for a kiss.Everyone cheered and yelled.I couldn't hear it though.I am deaf thanks to my fiancé.

"Huey,how long were you planning this?"

"Let's just say a very long time."

I laughed.He picked me up and left the stage with me.

When the principle announced that we graduated,we threw our hats in the air.I still can't believe it.He purposed to me...and I said yes...in the most awkward way I know how.I took off my robe,and it revealed a black romper with gold buttons on each side.My hair came down and to my hips since my hair grew wildly and had to get a haircut.When I looked back at Huey,he pinned me to the wall.I gasped as we are still in the crowd.

"You know just how to make me crazy,don't you?"Huey whispered in my ear.

"Well,it is hot,so what do you expect?"I asked innocently.

"That same dress you wore when you came back from China,remember?"

"You tore that dress to bits because you lost control,remember?"

Luckily,Jasmine,Hiro,Micheal,Riley,and Cindy came to the rescue.I pushed Huey to the side and walked to my group of friends.

"Let us see the ring,"they shouted at the same time.

I put my hand out as they congradulated me and Huey.

"I see your trying to cuff him also,but in a different style,"Cindy commented making me blush.

Everyone laughed and decided to go to a party Cindy knows about.We had fun for the rest of the day.Huey and I would dance with each other and laugh at our dance moves.Jasmine and Hiro kissing under the disco ball.Cindy and Riley cuddling by the stairway.Caeser flirting with a Latino.My dad conversating with Jasmine's dad.

"I love you,Da'Monica Freeman."

"You finally got it right."

"..."

"Love you too."
